Information Pollution?
The increasingly lucrative business of blogging – or as our founding editor calls it “blogdoggling” – has create a rash of “information pollution” in America, with bloggers often focusing more on churning out new material than they are on the quality of that material.
It’s also created more than a few millionaires, according to a report on the “State of the Blogosphere” released last week by the website Technorati.
Perhaps more importantly, the report (which you can read by clicking here) shows that the “lines are continuing to blur” between blogs and mainstream media sites as more people seek out alternative sources of information.
More blogs are taking on characteristics of the MSM, while the report showed that 95% of MSM outlets are using “reporter blogs” in their news coverage.
So where does FITSNews fit into this emerging portrait of new media?
Honestly, we don’t think about it all that much, although we’re definitely kicking ourselves for failing to snatch up “information pollution” as our official slogan.
Seriously, that rocks.
Anyway, our founding editor will be addressing yet another statewide panel seeking clues to the new media revolution this Friday, so we’ll have to see what wisdom he dispenses there.
Frankly we don’t think our audience particularly cares what we do or why we do it – as long as we’re doing it.
In fact, here’s a clip indicative of the relationship between us and our readers …

I see that clip going either way, to be honest. Which one are you, Sic?
