Raiders In Limbo
The Oakland Raiders may or may not be firing head coach Lane Kiffin after a narrow loss Sunday to the Buffalo Bills, which is only newsworthy because there are still people who actually want to go to Oakland and coach under crazy-as-hell owner Al Davis.
Seriously, people. The Raiders have a young coach, a young quarterback and two young running backs that any ordinary owner would be content to develop and build a franchise around (like the Cowboys, Colts and Patriots did).
But not Davis, who is infamous for meddling in the affairs of his team and firing head coaches like he was flipping TV channels.
Since their 2002 Super Bowl appearance (a lopsided 48-21 loss to Tampa Bay), the Raiders have gone 19-61 over the past five seasons under four different head coaches.
Davis, whose “just win, baby” mantra made him famous three decades ago, hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 1983, and frankly the best thing that could happen to this franchise is for this fossilized horse’s ass to move on to the great gridiron in the sky.
Incidentally, the Raiders 1-2 mark on this young 2008 season is the same as Sic Willie’s beloved Indianapolis Colts. Sic Willie look-alike Kyle Orton’s Chicago Bears are also 1-2 … go figure.

Maybe they should hire Steve Spurious away from USC….. I’m sure he could do for them what he did for the Redskins! Certainly he could work with Davis, after all, they should both be on the same medication.
