Celtic Studies

The Boston Celtics got a social studies lesson courtesy of President George W. Bush, who explained the concept of executive succession to them at a White House event held in honor of the reigning NBA champs.

For imparting his legendary wisdom, Bush received a Celtics jersey and a basketball autographed by the team.

No word if the Celtic girls were invited, but here’s a recap of the event from ESPN:

Bush, who is winding down his presidency, wished the team well defending its title this season. But he added that a new president will be hosting next year’s White House event for the NBA champs.

“Should you win it, you can find me in Texas,” he said with a laugh.

Aside from this being another “Captain Obvious” moment for our Commanderer-in-Chief, isn’t Texas pretty much where people find him already?

After all, Bush has made at least 76 trips to his Crawford, Texas ranch as president, totally nearly 500 days. He’s also logged almost 150 trips to Camp David in Maryland, totaling 450 days.

Unfortunately, all that time away from Washington hasn’t reduced Bush’s tendency to go along with its big-spending ways.
