Classy Kicks

We’ll admit it – we tend to view women’s shoes around here based on how good they look upside-down, not necessarily how well they function in the real world.

But as Coco Chanel and others have proved, not only is it possible to blend functionality, freedom and flirtatiousness in one’s fashion choices, but the end result of such a nexus is invariably hotter than anything contrived to lure men’s basest intentions.

In other words, “class” has a pervasive sex appeal all its own, yet in our ongoing search for shoes that fit our long legs (and longer hours on the job), it’s rare that we come upon a store that can meet our multi-faceted demands.

As a favorite fashion designer of ours once said, the perfect shoe or accessory must “answer the wardrobe’s question before it’s even been asked.”

On a recent trip to Beaufort, S.C., the FITS gals stumbled upon just such an oasis.

Divine Shoes (located just off of historic Bay Street in downtown Beaufort) is a shoe store/ boutique that is frankly our new favorite place in the world.

Boasting an impressive collection of kicks for men and women as well as several hot handbags – our other money-draining obsession – the store is locally-owned and operated by Kathy Kilgore, who recently added a sleek new website to her establishment (click here to visit).

The kind of shop that you’d expect to find on Charleston’s trendy King Street, Divine Shoes features hundreds of selections that are perfect for women looking to step out in style.

Check ‘em out gals, and tell Kathy the FITS gals sent you …
