Carol Fowler Is Kind Of A Bitch

When you look like an overfed lesbian mule, the likelihood that pretty women are going to piss you off jumps like eleventy kabillion percent. Seriously, we’ve studied it.

Such is the case with Carol Fowler, the head of South Carolina’s Democratic Party, who in addition to bearing a striking resemblance to Franklin Roosevelt is also – go figure – kind of a bitch.

As related by Politico reporter Jonathan Martin today, when asked about McCain veep pick Sarah Palin, Fowler grumbled that McCain had selected a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Nice.

Fowler also dismissed McCain’s post-Palin bounce by saying that “among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him. I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway.”

Sheesh, can you stereotype a little more there, sir … err, madam?

You know, we defended Fowler’s husband (who we actually thought was dead) for some joking comments he made last week about Hurricane victims, but this is the fourth or fifth time we’ve heard a fountain of stupid flowing from Carol’s mouth.

On top of that, she’s probably the least effective Democratic Chairman in the nation when you consider the opening that big-spending Republicans here in South Carolina have provided her party with.

Oh well, when you’re too busy obsessing over that dance you didn’t get invited to back in high school (800 years ago) and spewing venom at the girl everybody did want to take, it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture.

I finally decided to write a comment on your blog. I just wanted to say good job. I really enjoy reading your posts.

Once again, after the “cling to guns and religion” comment, disavowment of lifetime friend and “mentor” Wright who’s crazy views are insulting to America, and now this, it just shows the Dems are just out of touch under the “leadership” of Obama. Its amazing how supposedly this is the party for women, but idolizes a sexual harrasser President and minimizes one its most cherished and accomplished female stars (Hillary).

If this is indicative of what the Dems stand for, as an Independent, it just makes me discover not only to know why I should vote for Palin and McCain, but also why I should NOT vote for Obama and Biden by the true meaness of their party and its surrogates. I wonder if Ms. Fowler has had an abortion, or for that matter, what is the status in terms of all female politicians in the Democratic side of politics that have been elected and if they have passed the litmus test of having had an abortion to be a true Democrat?

By Gari on September 10th, 2008 at 5:10 pm

Thank you for showcasing your true character, it is indeed as pathetic as the democratic party that you represent.

News Flash….The election is over, PALIN has WON!

daaaamn! what is it about liberal women selling their souls to crush a another women because of political differences?!? i mean, all these liberal women who HAVE children and work are basically tellin palin to go back to the kitchen. hmmm…nancy pelosi sure is quiet on the subject…oh yeah she has five kids too..wonder how she did it all these years? the liberal feminist movement lost all relevancy and it took about a week. hope it was worth it suckas. now go make me a pie

By gspears3 on September 10th, 2008 at 6:10 pm

“Fowler had an abortion”? Eeeessh… who the hell would climb on top of that? There ain’t enough liquor on the planet… She’d make a turkey baster go limp.

By Adrienne on September 10th, 2008 at 6:11 pm

I think the Republicans are really good a slinging mud,but they can’t take it if someone should happen to sling it back. They have no answers to the problems that Americans really care about so they go to their usual dirty politics ( by the way a backlash is growing). What I and most women I know think about Palin is not very flattering. Those who think the sun rises and sets in her glasses,or oher hero action doll(now that’s sexist) have long ago lost the will to think for themselves or to care about what happens to this country, the environment and people in this world. You have had 8 years of garbage and seem to have the disire to wallow in more. The election is far from over Saint Sarah is about to sink like the Titanic!

By HR Pufnstuf on September 10th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

You’ve never been so right Will. The Democrats should have control of the General Assembly, but instead, our “leaders” wrap themselves around making headlines and waves on the national scene, leaving House and Senate candidates out in the cold. Heck, I can recall two years ago, when the SCDP just kind of stood by and watched during the Fall campaign when Barber, Theodore and Rex were in tight races. We could have three statewide seats, but instead, we had 15 minutes of fame in the 2008 Presidential Primary. Whoop-tee-frickin-doo

By yochanan on September 10th, 2008 at 6:20 pm

well to need an abortion some one would have to fornicate with you i could not drink enough beer to make me want her SHE IS BEYOND FUGLY

By Jan on September 10th, 2008 at 6:23 pm

Gee, Ms. Fowler looks reasonably attractive to me; I didn’t see any resemblance to FDR, but that certainly wouldn’t render her unattractive. Could this be a petty personal attack, perhaps? I do believe Ms. Fowler was right on the money about Governor Palin’s relative lack of qualifications. If it takes a “bitch” to tell the truth, then just maybe what we need is more bitches.

By Snead on September 10th, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Is this really written by the same guy who called Alaskans “retarded”? What happened to being an equal-opportunity offender?

It might not be tactful, but based on the way people have gushed over Palin’s youngest you might think keeping it was the best political decision she ever made. Would McCain have chosen her if she had an abortion? Would they make her any less fit to be vice president?

By fitsnews on September 10th, 2008 at 6:50 pm

#9-

It is absolutely a petty personal attack. What’s your point?

She is wrong..Palin best qualification is that she is a white woman blessed with good looks. McCain is not entirely stupid, he knew this was his only and best chance. So he played his ace in the hole/ Which happens to to be a pretty white ace of spades. Never mind that she was a Mayor of itty bitty town in the Great State of Alaska that she left 30 million in debt thats what Republicans do best..Example George Bush and the debt he has created for the Amercian people. Never mind that she lies repeatly abut her accomplishments. Geroge Bush lied and got the country into war, This is what Repbulicans do best. White people this white house race is about what the Majority of people want from their goverment. I know there are some very selfish Repbulicans that dont relish the thought of paying higer taxes just so some one eles might have a better life, health care better paying jobs, equal pay. Just to name a few. He is a 72 year old white male, and knows how deep seated raceism really is…To many white Amercians he is like the great white hope. This is so sad..

Do John McCain, Sarah Palin or conservative republicans respect the moral foundations of our country? The U.S. Constitution is abused by conservative republicans at every turn.

U.S. Constitution: Amendment I – Freedom of Religion
Because of conservative republicans, your tax dollars are funding religious groups you may not agree with. To add insult to injury, conservative appointed judges have ruled that you do not have a right to challenge this expenditure.

Amendment IV – Search and seizure
Under the guise of court action against abortion, Conservative republicans had John Ashcroft subpoena all the medical records of literally thousands of women like you and members of your family. Conservative republicans invade your privacy every day by browsing your email and phone records. Unfortunately for all of us, they don’t appear to care about our U.S. constitution, and they certainly don’t care about your privacy.

Amendment X – Powers of the States and People
John McCain and conservative republicans have tried consistently to overturn States Laws. They used your hard earned tax dollars to destroy the will of the people of Oregon, and the famous “Death with Dignity” law; they lost, but undoubtedly will try again. Conservative republicans and John McCain do not respect States Rights. If your state votes for something conservatives don’t agree with they will use federal powers to overturn it regardless of how you and your fellow voters feel.

Amendment VIII – Cruel and Unusual punishment
Would you rather die, or support a government which supported and sanctioned torture? The founding fathers would rather have died. The founding fathers were proud to fight and die for our government: A government which specifically outlaws cruel and unusual punishment. Conservatives don’t agree with this philosophy. Conservatives are at odds with our founding fathers on this score, and too many others to count.

John McCain, Sarah Palin, and the conservative republicans have already gone too far in destroying the moral foundations of our country. I urge you to keep this in mind in the coming election as we rebuild our nation together by voting for Obama, who stated that in his first 100 days he would eliminate all of Bush’s unconstitutional signing orders as a start.

By Mary Hlavinka on September 10th, 2008 at 7:42 pm

Your comments are horrible!!!!! You need to step down from anything to do with politics. Seems you let your ass overload your mouth. I think that is typical for a democrat. I am pro-life and you are a witch. They need to tar and feather you.
I do not think your attempt of a so called “apology” is accepted.
Go back under the rock you came from.
As far as Obama, “you can’t change the spots on a leopard”. He is an idiot!!!!!!

By chuck on September 10th, 2008 at 7:45 pm

Though she has apologized she should resign from the State Democratic Party. Her words were out of line and out place. She should be shunned and she should apologize to the whole state and Gov Palin.
Better yet send her and husband to Alaska and see what greeting they would get for thier callus insults.

By WhenElephantsFly on September 10th, 2008 at 8:00 pm

The republican party would have you believe that there is no way you should ever vote for a Democrat if you are pro-life. Hang on a second! Why is Abortion actually a national political campaign issue? Is a candidate’s stance really going to make a difference in our lives? George Bush has been in office eight years, he’s had a Republican congress for most of that time. He’s got supreme court justices in his back pocket (remember that it was the Supreme court that effectively elected George Bush into office in 2000). And there hasn’t been a lick of tangible difference in overturning Roe versus Wade or anything of that sort. Personally, I’m generally pro-life, but I don’t see why that should play a consideration in who I vote for. Instead, I think it’s better to focus on issues that are relevant to me like the economy. To me abortion is just an issue that the Republicans trumped up and set on the national stage in order to divide us.

By fitsnews on September 10th, 2008 at 8:11 pm

When Elephants Fly,

We couldn’t agree with you more. Republicans consistently use social issues to cloak their failure to govern by the limited government principles they’re supposed to stand for.

Having said that, it was a Democrat who “trumped up” this issue.

What an insult to FDR!!! It’s so ironic that in the history of SC politics one of the big leaps was the black Democratic nominee for governor using a racial slur during the campaign in 1990, causing his party to abandon him and opening the door for Republicans to make big gains. Now CF has embarrased women by attacking one of her own. It’s dismaying that the Democrats are not focusing on the real issues we should win on but are digging ourselves into a deeper hole and causing more sympathy for Palin. Who cares about Palin’s lack of an abortion or the slime unleashed on her family. I thought that nutcase, Ann Coulter, was outrageous calling abortion a liberal sacrament. That’s purely wacko. With CF’s comments, I now wonder.

Carol Fowler doesn’t remotely resemble FDR. She does, however, strongly resemble Chelsea Clinton’s father, Janet Reno. Except for the red dress.

By MarybethConnor on September 10th, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Time to vote this fossil-brained mud puppy out of her job. I don’t want people from around America thinking that this is what all South Carolinians sound like or WORSE, look like!

By Nope on September 10th, 2008 at 10:24 pm

I am always amused when people tell me they’re voting Republican based on social issues. The Republicans have been in charge, more decisively than less, for 30 years, and what has changed? When will social conservatives get a clue that they’re being used?

Plus, I think Carol Fowler was politically incorrect (when does this site hate that) but I don’t think she was wrong. Sarah Palin’s conservative credentials come as much from her private life as her public life. Sarah’s willing to exploit that; why shouldn’t Carol Fowler?

By Nope on September 10th, 2008 at 10:30 pm

And God, lay off Carol Fowler’s looks. How many of you were Alaska’s beauty queen?

By disgusted on September 10th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

Fowler is and, along with her “husband”. a disgrace to South Carolina , the state I love. If she had any shame she would resign immediately, but her arrogance probably wouldnt allow her. The democratic party in this state has no future if it continues to be led by the likes of her…. disgusting … and I say this as a democrat.. tho for how long I dont know

By James on September 10th, 2008 at 11:33 pm

And one wonders why the Dems are blowing this election with hacks like the Fowlers running their shop?

The grand strategy of the Messiah’s counter to Governor Palin was to send out shrill lezbos to defend him. Shouldn’t Mr. Glass Jaw defend himself without having to have a bunch of lezbos rally around him?

And here’s the best part – Mr. Glass Jaw now has to go kiss the ring of PRESIDENT Clinton in order to tell Hillary to help him out. Wonder what amount the check Obama writes to clear Hillary’s debt will be?

Memo to Obama: kiss all you want, the ring is on President Clinton’s middle finger.

By CL on September 12th, 2008 at 9:48 am

Frank,

I don’t know why I bother, because you are not concerned with honest debate or the facts, but here goes.

Amendment I – The 1st amendment provides for freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. But nice way to invert the principle. Even if your reading were correct, your objections should be directed at the Democrats. This type of spending dates back to LBJ and the Great Society. There is a landmark SCOTUS (1968, before Nixon was in office) opinion on taxpayer standing dealing with the use of funds authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (Democratic congress and LBJ in the White House) for private religious schools. Plus, Obama has indicated he would continue Bush’s faith based initiatives.

Amendment IV – Again, go talk to the Dems. FDR arrested and put into detention camps Americans of Japanese descent. He did so without probable cause and without any due process for those being detained. Clinton took the position that the government could conduct warrantless physical searches with no foreign intelligence value. http://www.washtimes.com/news/2005/dec/22/20051222-122610-7772r/

Amendment X – Do you really think the Dems respect states’ rights? The justices they have appointed have (for good and ill) trampled on states rights. The conservative justices like Scalia (and Rehnquist before him) have made a concerted effort to scale back creeping federal power (see the Lopez case and commentary on its importance for more detail).

Amendment VIII – whatever your personal views on waterboarding, it is intellectually dishonest to pretend there is no debate on whether it constitutes torture (never mind that it happened 3 times ever). You also dishonestly ignore that McCain disagrees with Bush on this score and paint all conservatives with this brush.

By pat on September 12th, 2008 at 11:02 am

what Fowler said was wrong, but she was trying to say — quit voting for that “one issue” and look at all the issues the candidates are proposing. the GOP has hurt our families, and Thomas Frank states that in the Wall Street Journal recently:

The GOP Loves the Heartland To Death
http://www.wsj.com/article/SB122100226859616967.html?mod=hpp_us_inside_today

By James on September 12th, 2008 at 2:44 pm

What Fowler was trying to do was plug the hole in the dike (pardon that totally inapprotiate pun) since women that are flocking in droves to the McCain column – evidenced by McCain’s lock on Florida and it isn’t even October!

BTW – that one issue – what a sterile way of saying Fowler is for the ending of a defenseless life. Pat, does it make you feel better about yourself and your views when you don’t have to type the word “abortion”?

By Todd on September 12th, 2008 at 5:30 pm

I agree with Stand828 – I thought you were talking about Jean Toal. Not so much the physical descriptions, but the blind loyalty to the Demo’s and the win at all costs mentality. Hey, can you send CF and JT to Alaska? We’ll find out how good a shot Palin really is.

NO WONDER REPUBLICAN FEMALES LIKE PALIN. ALL SHE TALKS ABOUT IS LIPSTICK.
THAT’S WHY YOUR GIRL MADE A FOOL OF HERSELF ON NATIONAL T.V. PLENTY OF TIMES.
WHEN WILL YOU IGNORANT REPUBLICAN’S LEARN THAT IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT LOOKS WITH WOMEN? WHY DON’T YOU SAY THAT OBAMA LOOKS BETTER THAN MCCAIN AND THEREFORE MEN ARE JEALOUS OF BARACK? WHAT A DOUBLE STANDARD YOU BELIEVE WOMEN SHOULD LIVE UP TO. DOUBLE STANDARDS ARE VERY TYPICAL OF UNDER-EDUCATED RETARDED REPUBLICONS THAT IS FOR DAMN SURE.
WRITE AN INTELLIGENT POST NEXT TIME IDIOT.
CAN YOU PEOPLE EVER TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES? YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF TALKING ABOUT THE ISSUES BECAUSE ALL YOU DO IS SMEAR AND YOU WILL LOSE THIS ELECTION BECAUSE OF IT.
PALIN WILL NEVER BE THE PRESIDENT. NOT IF WHITE MALES OVER 35 CAN HELP IT.
THEY DON’T WANT THAT BIMBO DUMMY IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

WHY DON’T ALL OF YOU MOVE BACK TO ALASKA AND MAKE YOURSELVES SEPERATE FROM THE UNITED STATES LIKE YOU WANT TO?
