Somebody’s Got An Erin Andrews Obsession

We have to be honest, friends … the pictures included after the jump in this post almost didn’t make it back from Williams-Brice Stadium in one piece last night. Nor for that matter did the photographer who took them. Things were touch-and-go for some time, and only a rare display of courage and selflessness made this magical moment possible. In fact, the next time they’re giving out medals for heroic photojournalism (or whatever it is they give to heroic photojournalists), please remember to nominate our founding editor.

That’s because Sic Willie, our hero, risked life and limb to bring you several photos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews, who just so happened to be pacing the sidelines of South Carolina’s season-opening football game in Columbia last night.

Our drama unfolded midway through the third quarter of the game, when Mrs. Sic Willie (our hero’s lovely wife) somehow managed to get a hold of her husband’s digital camera – and made a shocking discovery. Amazingly, all but four of the 182 pictures Sic had taken of “the game” were actually pictures of Ms. Andrews instead – which is obviously not a good ratio for a married man.

Needless to say, the poor camera quickly found itself in harm’s way, with Mrs. Sic at one point threatening to smash it on the corrugated metal stadium seats and later dangling it precariously over a bubbling vat of Diet Coke. Words like “jerk,” “stalker,” “jackass” and “pervert” reverberated through the humid, Southern evening air, along with a not-so-thinly-veiled threat that involved Sic Willie walking home from the stadium and spending the night on the sofa.

Anyway, one can only imagine the sheer willpower, diplomatic aplomb and inner strength that our hero had to summon at such a moment in order to bring you these photos …

In case you were wondering, the hottie in the jersey above is Mrs. Sic Willie, who of course didn’t do any of that crazy stuff we were joking about, but who does manage to tolerate a man who definitely did take way too many pictures of Erin Andrews last night.

At any rate, these two ladies are the real heroines here, and as a reward to them for being such wonderful people, Sic has agreed to momentarily refrain from fantasizing about what it would be like if the two of them were to ever make out with each other.

Some say courage and discretion are dying virtues, people.

We think this heartwarming story proves them wrong.

SO! I can’t blame you man! Erin’s probably the finest journalist in ESPN college football history, but ya gotta be careful man! Is it tough? Getting used to being married? Good luck!
