A-Tooty-Test, A-Tooty-Test, A-Tooty-Test Test
HELP NAME OUR STATE’S NEW TEST? WE’VE GOT AN IDEA …
FITSNews - August 25, 2008 - In keeping with his status as PR Zen Master, S.C. Superintendent of Education Jim Rex is now asking South Carolinians to help him name our state’s latest effort to inaccurately and inefficiently gauge how poorly our public schools are doing when it comes to educating our children.
Rex’s office sent out a press release today urging people to submit suggested names for the new Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test, which is basically the same as the old test except it’s now a lot easier for our state’s Ministry of Failure and Non-Competition to manipulate the results.
Not surprisingly, we’ve got a suggestion for the Superintendent … and it’s in keeping with some of those awesome teacher training exercises we’ve been paying gazillions of tax dollars for.
Remember A-Tooty-Ta? Well, why don’t we name the new PACT “A-Tooty-Test?” Our teachers could even do the A-Tooty-Ta dance before they handed the booklets out. Seriously, if we’re going to keep covering up South Carolina’s chronic failure to educate its kids, we might as well give it a fitting theme song …

Ya know, a half-assed idea like this seems rather fitting for a half-assed approach to education.
When they get serious about getting results, then we can give the test a serious name. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Won’t it be great when Inez and Rex square off in the primary for Governor? Each one will have to say what a terrible job the other did/is doing as Superintendent of Education.
What accomplishments could either one of them run on anyway?

i say to hell with the no child left behind law, just ask kids if they want to be educated or not. that simple. so if they screw up in life, then they will understand why an education is so important.
or, every kid that scores proficient or lower HAS to be held back. in a state like ours, average isnt good enough. “shoot for the moon so if you fall you land on the stars”

Ironic that you would have the most massive split infinitive ever in this post.
