GOP OFFICIAL BLAMES ILLEGAL DRIVING ON PETA PROTESTERS

FITSNews - August 20, 2008 - Of all the reasons a multiple-DUI offender could give for driving with a suspended license, we suppose the harrowing influence of PETA protesters is probably as good as any.

Anyway, that was among the excuses offered by York County (S.C.) councilman Paul Lindemann for sporting around in his Audi a month after getting pulled for his third DUI …

“I just sold my house,” he said. “My kid’s sick. I’ve been taking calls all day from these PETA people. I’ve been under some duress lately.”

We really hate to discredit elected officials, but the last time we saw a PETA protest the only “duress” it caused was in our pants.

Of course we do hope the Councilman’s kid is feeling better. In all fairness to him, there has been a nasty bug going around lately …
