COUNCILMAN GETS OFFER TO GO QUIETLY, AVOID JAIL TIME

FITSNews - August 20, 2008 - In typical FITSNews fashion, we knew absolutely nothing about Greenville County (S.C.)’s crazy as hell government until two days ago - but this morning we know even more about it than the local MSM.

According to sources who spoke with FITSNews on the condition of anonymity, embattled county official Tony Trout (who reportedly started a shove-fest at a council meeting earlier this week) has been given an ultimatum - either “go gently into that good night” or face prison time for allegedly spying on fellow county officials.

Trout, who seems to crave attention almost as much as he craves fatty foods, doesn’t appear to be choosing Door #1 at this point.  In fact, in a weblog entry from yesterday he goes nuts on a local newspaper reporter and his chief political antagonist, promising the pair that a “rude awakening” is on its way:

The long nose, bony butt Bob Jones Reject, Ben Szobody his daddy Butch Kirven are having a good old time writing slanderous articles about me; thinking that there will be no accountability, but the Greenville News and Greenville County is in for a rude awakening soon.

Bony butt? Rude awakening? Jesus, who the hell is this guy?

Of course, as much as we would ordinarily counsel people who are under FBI investigation to accept plea agreements when they’re offered, we kind of hope Trout continues his walking soap opera for a little while longer.

After all, it’s a nice distraction from the fact that Greenville government is just as money-hungry and fiscally irresponsible as any other government in this ass-backward state.

As much as I hate all of our local politicians here in Greenville, I do believe there is a smattering of truth to Tony Trout’s accusations. The ones he is accusing seem to be sweating a little.

I thought Butch Kirven was a retired Army General. I read this article and Butch is acting like a little school girl. Shove the man back Butch! What is this world coming to? Butch Kirven the scared little girl?

Like many cops, he always considered himself to be above the law. He thought that getting elected to the county council gave him more ability to above the law. He got beat on a 3 to 1 ratio by a substellar opponent in the recent runoff because of his shenagans, which are just too many to list. His political career is like a train wreck full of death row inmates. People are just interested enough in the carnage for traffic to slow but no one is going to get out of their cars because the cargo isn’t worth it.

I’m with Aaron. I think Trout is on to something and I hope he keeps it up. Greenville has too much potential for those BoJos to screw it up for the entire place.

Tony? Is that you? This article is about your indiscretions not the indiscretions of others. You’re a crooked idiot.
