Baggy Pants Ban?

SOUTH CAROLINA SENATOR WANTS TO OUTLAW LOW-RIDING

FITSNews - August 18, 2008 - Forget bridging South Carolina’s growing achievement gap between white and black students, or creating jobs for minorities that don’t involve stacking boxes

It turns out State Sen. Robert (i)Ford has a better idea for improving African-Americans’ lot in life here in the Palmetto State … banning baggy pants:

“If these guys want to look like prisoners, what’s the next step?” Ford said. “We, those of us who fought civil rights battles in the ’60s and early ’70s, anticipated wonderful things for African-Americans once we broke down a lot of barriers.

“This generation hasn’t built upon anything except destructive stuff.”

Bravo, Senator. We’re sure that government dictating people’s clothing choices will solve everything that’s wrong with this state.

don’t you love it when the state tells us to be unique then forces everyone to be the same?
