COSTNER STILL SEARCHING FOR A BIG WINNER

FITSNews – August 11, 2008 – Based on its anemic box office returns, it appears Mr. and Mrs. Sic Willie were among the only people in the country to go see Kevin Costner’s “Swing Vote” this weekend … and with good reason.

We’ve heard the movie described as “smart political satire that is also heartfelt,” but to us it was neither. It was long, flat and not very funny, never really inspiring or finding its rhythm. In fact, the only reason to go see it at all is a pretty solid performance from first-time actress Madeline Carroll.

Costner, incidentally, hasn’t had a $100 million hit at the box office since 1992’s “The Bodyguard.”
