WE CAN RIDE OUR “TRICYCLE WITH NO WHEELS”

FITSNews – August 9, 2008 – Actually, it’s “bike,” and the operative declaration is “No Handlebars,” but our little shorty prefers to sing this kick-ass Flobots song in his own way … much like this incredibly cute Emo girl named Lauren sings “No Handlebars” in her own way, too … and totally rocks it out.

Anyway, thanks to KSH over at Palmetto Bands for another great music tip, which will serve as our accompaniment for this morning’s follow-up file …

KWAME CAN’T GET NO LOVE – Just a day after bringing you the story of jailed Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who got locked up this week for violating the conditions of his bond, two additional charges have been filed against the young, scandal-plagued politician. Already facing eight felony counts of perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct of office, Kilpatrick is now facing two additional felony charges for allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer. As we suspected all along, however, Kilpatrick’s attorney is confirming that the whole thing is a racially-motivated “set-up.”

GAMECOCKSUCKERS – After consistently fielding shitty football teams and doing everything within its power to eliminate any other local sports entertainment options, the South Carolina Athletic Department is now (surprise) jacking the price on football tickets in the middle of a crappy economy. Not surprisingly, the biggest supporter for this economically-indefensible measure is USC trustee Michael J. Mungo, the same guy who’s been trying for years to get taxpayers to build new schools for his subdivisions out in Northwest Columbia.

GAMECOCKSUCKERS, PT. II – A six-year trademark battle between the University of South Carolina and the University of Southern California was finally decided yesterday … in favor of the school that doesn’t suck ass. According to With Leather, the administrative tribunal of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has settled the “Trojan-Cock” showdown in favor of the Trojans, giving them “priority of use” with respect to the interlocking “SC” logo. In two related rulings, however, South Aiken (S.C.) defeated Arizona State for “priority of use” with respect to the interlocking “AS” logo (which is now the “SA” logo) and Upper Conway Lower Aynor (S.C.) defeated the University of California Los Angeles for control of the UCLA logo

ROD SHEALY INTERVIEWS – Last week obviously brought sad news about veteran S.C. political consultant Rod Shealy’s medical condition (see here and here). While we continue to keep Rod and his family in our thoughts and prayers, take a look at these two clips (one and two) from an interview Rod conducted Thursday with SC Hotline

The “holocaust” reference at the conclusion of this song is deeply offensive. I hope you will consider removing this offensive song from your web site.

Great song…I heard it the other day (before you, I want to point out)…

#1, I believe the song is referencing a “nuclear holocaust”. So, I’d love to know how you find that offensive.
