DEMS TAKE A VACATION, REPUBLICANS STAY BEHIND TO GRANDSTAND

FITSNews – August 1, 2008 – The immensely-popular United States Congress went on vacation today – well, the Democrats did.

Republicans are sticking around to wax indignantly about high gas prices, which we might find noble if we felt Congressional Republicans were worth a shit.  From the AP:

After the House officially adjourned and the C-SPAN cameras were off, a few dozen Republicans remained on the floor giving impassioned speeches about Democrats’ decision to adjourn without a vote on their energy plan.

“Republicans will not go quietly,” said Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind. “Let us demand that the president of the United States … call a special session of this Congress on energy.”

Blah blah blah.  First of all, anybody who begins a sentence with “let us …” really ought to be shot on sight.  Second, both of our nation’s “parties of big government” are equally to blame for everything that’s wrong with this country – including high gas prices.

We should definitely start drilling though – inside these morons’ craniums.
