OLIVER STONE’S “W.” SET FOR OCTOBER RELEASE
FITSNews - July 29, 2008 - Remember how President Harry Truman left office in 1952 as one of the most unpopular presidents ever, but then a nation’s reflection upon his courage and quiet determination in the face enemies foreign and domestic validated him and elevated his stature in the eyes of history?
Yeah, we’re gonna go out on a limb and guess that won’t be happening with George W. Bush.
Anyway, Bush will still be in office when one of the first movies to explore his lethargy … err, legacy … hits the silver screen. Oliver Stone’s “W.” opens in theaters this October, with actor Josh Brolin playing President Bush and the smokin’ hot Elizabeth Banks (Definitely Maybe ) playing his wife, Laura.
Interestingly enough, Stone and our very own Sic Willie are graduates of the same Pennsylvania prep school, so we’ll have to see if he can use the rich white boy connection to obtain an interview with the famous, controversial filmmaker.

The original title was Jackass No. 3, but the threats of a lawsuit forced them to change it.

Streisand’s husband playing a Republican? I’ll go out on a limb and predict this film will not attempt to flatter the President. Shame they couldn’t get Jane Fonda to play the First Lady.

Everybody I knows finds Oliver Stone interesting, but they say his absolutely demented. His JFK move, for example.

I’m the sure the fact it’s coming out in OCTOBER, has absolutely nothing to do with unduly interfering with the election in November!
Where is McCain-Feingold when you need it? I thought that was supposed to suppress people’s First Amendment rights? If there was anyone whose First Amendment rights that desperately needed infringing it is Oliver Stone. Oh, yah, and Fat Bastard ..er.. Michael “Get In Mah Belly” Moore.
