McCONNELL GETS PALMETTO LEGISLATURE’S LONE PERFECT PRO-BUSINESS RATING
FITSNews – July 25, 2008 – As was the case last year, members of the utterly worthless S.C. General Assembly got poor marks again this year for their votes against pro-business legislation. Which isn’t at all surprising when you consider that a bunch of special interest sellouts and big-spending liberals are basically in charge of both political parties in this state.
Of course it also means that Agent 007 – who administers the rankings – is going to have to go and cut some serious ass over at the State House next year.
As it turns out only one lawmaker – State Sen. Glenn McConnell – ended up with a perfect score on the latest business report cards, which are published annually by the S.C. Business and Industry Political Education Committee. Numerous lawmakers got perfect scores last year.

Funny, but the most powerful guys in both sides of the Lobby are ranked highest. I think there is a little pandering going on there.

I really wonder how the “granding” and such goes on for the sponsoring of certain bills et cetera.
None the less, if this one bellwehter is to be used I guess the state senate is getting decididely more pro-business from 2007-2008. 11 of 44 ranked Senator were a “0″ (zero) rating in 2007. None in 2008 and 37 of 44 Senator’s scores went up with their scores by 20 to 50 points or better.
Jake Knotts made the biggest year to year increast by going up over 80+ from 2007 to 2008.
However, I really have to wonder about a business advocacy group that rates such a huge part of their “business” friendly scores on who the legislators elected to be judges/justices instead of focusing on more business related issues?
