Dear Sic (Sic) Willie:

"University of South Carolina alumni Andrew Card" it should be alumnus Andrew Card. Using alumni (plural) is like calling yourself an only children. Did you go to USC?

Sad but true Ellie. God forbid we bring in somebody with great organizational skills, great connections to the world outside of the Columbia Echo Chamber (where everything is always wonderful, according to those who reside in it and never leave it) That a guy like that, with that set of credentials, was a grad of Carolina, and actually wanted the job is amazing. What is not amazing is that the elite idiots on the BOT couldn't see that and instead hired the guy who has turned the Innovista into a first class mess because he knows more about the first class mess than anyone else. That makes sense.

USC is "old government" at its worse. Little accountability, out of control spending, and a "workforce" that slips and slides so much on their time that it is rare to ever reach ANYONE without multiple attempts. The buck never stops anywhere but at some faceless committee that is beyond reasonable access to most people.

We are a third world state, with the power and money being held in the hands of a few self-interested people...and the people be damned. Regardless of who is picked at USC...it will continue to serve the interest of the few.

Accountability at our Universities, our state government, and cities like Columbia (where people should be going to jail and not receiving raises!) is nonexistent. Sanford had his chance yet he did little except whine. And none of the people that are rumored to be interested in being our next governor has a track record of making government accountable.

So nothing will change. Absolutely nothing.

"NO ONE but Republican hacks ever had Andy Card on any list of credible candidates. "

You are sort of begging the question there. He was not more widely considered because close minded, bigoted liberals excluded him entirely from consideration based solely upon political prejudices.

They picked Harris Pastides a few weeks ago. They are only going through the motions of a "search." It's a really shady deal. You should investigate and report.

Red Bank,

If you click on "widely-rumored" in the article above, it will take you to another blog that wrote extensively about Card's prospective candidacy. Card was also among two candidates discussed at length in this morning's La Socialista, which we think is safe to describe as thoroughly non-Republican.

This is the first time FITSNews has addressed the USC presidential search, because quite frankly, it's not as important as hiring a head football or men's basketball coach to us.

Also, we prefer "right wigger" to "right winger." They took away our right winger card after we called Dubya an idiot on Google News the other day, yo.
