Get Thee To Monkee Ice
CHILL OUT WITH THE COOLEST TREATS ON THE PLANET
FITSNews – July 8, 2008 – We have no idea how the technology associated with Monkee Ice works. We’re assuming it involves blending tightly-packed mounds of thinly-shaved ice with the sugary, syrupy deliciousness of dozens of fruity flavors, but the truth behind such complexities eludes us.
All we know is that Monkee Ice should have a government label on it warning people of its delectably-addictive properties. Seriously, people – it’s that good. In fact, Monkee Ice even has its own Facebook group, which Sic Willie and the FITS gals have dutifully joined.
Located in the Quail Valley shopping center in Irmo, S.C. (i.e. right here), Monkee Ice is owned by good people Alan and Dana Sims, and offers over 60 flavors in sizes ranging from “Chimp” ($1) to “King Kong” ($3.50).
We accidentally stumbled upon this tastebud mecca last week while researching our recent expose on a certain Midlands area school district, and to say that our lives have been irrevocably altered as a result is an understatement. Frankly, we’re considering selling all of our worldly possessions and pitching a tent. Or figuring out how to franchise this thing all Ray Kroc-style …
UPDATE – You can check out all of Monkee Ice’s flavors below, and if you tell ‘em FITSNews sent you, prepare to receive $1 off of the “King Kong” and “Gorilla” sizes. Seriously, we’re not kidding. We have pull like that at Monkey Ice …

they used to sell these on the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach and called it a “New Orleans Snowball” . You are correct, they are freaking addictive….and probably quite profitable…I mean how much can a block of ice cost?

Hmmm…MONKEY ice. With a name like that, it has to be good.

The best flavor ever, wedding cake, cherry, and cola mixed together. It sounds strange, but it’s hella delicious!

If you head to Winnsboro anytime soon, our next Representative’s sister owns one of these things. Their’s is called Eskimo Ice, has plenty of flavors, and you can add cream to it. It’s at the old train station on Congress (our Main) Street.
My suggestion: Georgia Sunshine and Cream or just plain Cherry
