[...] Anyway, here’s how this time-honored big government charade works … when the economy is good, lawmakers like Hugh Leatherman, Dan Cooper and Converse Chellis spend every last cent of the money you send to Columbia. Sure, they make a big deal about passing a random “tax cut” here or there, but they always raise another tax in order to keep things “revenue neutral” (i.e. to keep the pork flowing).
[...] FITSNews - July 6, 2008 - It’s been said that all we do around here is criticize people without offering any solutions of our own. Of course that’s bullshit, but it’s always nice when our friends in the South Carolina mainstream media see the light of what we’re saying. [...]

Dunno if you're attributing correctly Jeff, but I've got to admit that is sort of what it sounded like you were saying.

Yeah Will - just so you're clear, the money isn't going to some children's home! It's going to renovate a FORMER children's home campus to make way for the state chapter of Future Farmers of America! Man...and to think you mistook it for something crazy like helping needy children. Do they bring in boatloads of jobs like...um...the FFA?

Didn't think so. Stupid kids. You sir, have been served!

FITS: Just to clear up one item: The $60,000 for the "children's home in Clinton" is to be used for building improvements on the Thornwell Children's Home campus to prepare for the move of the state FFA Headquarters from Myrtle Beach to Clinton - a project we have been fighting for from an economic development position since Fall 2007. This will not only locate jobs to our area, but will bring thousands of people to Clinton each year for meetings and events. Unlike most of the spending items you mention, we went after this money for, in my opinion, the right reasons. Rep. Jeff Duncan

#3 No, and why do you assume that a slug asskisser like Rick Beltram would write something like this? Rick's concern is powerbrokering/ass kissing to get ahead in his tiny kingdom. Would he ever push for change at the ballot box to elimenate the slugs in Columbia if there weren't something in it for him? Change in this form elimenates/exposes slugs for what they are and the deals they broker.
