The ACLU Is Coming To Town
STILL THINK SOUTH CAROLINA IS THE REDDEST STATE IN THE NATION?
FITSNews – June 28, 2008 – We don’t have anything against the American Civil Liberties Union, mind you, but the fact that one of the nation’s leading liberal activist groups is opening an office in South Carolina should serve notice that our state’s reddish tinge is beginning to get a tad purpler.
That’s assuming, of course, that the Democratic avalanche in the 2008 S.C. presidential primary (Dems turned out 525,000 voters compared to the GOP’s 446,000) didn’t sufficiently drive that message home.
Republicans are in big trouble, people … like, everywhere. But then again they deserve to be, so we don’t really feel sorry for them. Particularly not South Carolina Republicans, who might as well be Democrats the way they spend our money.
Anyway, several SCGOP leaders have already privately fretted to FITSNews that their party will lose several seats in the 2008 general election, and while the “Republican” majority isn’t yet imperiled, it sure as hell deserves to be.

Big “G” Republicans deserve to lose. They spend like drunken sailors. Governor Moonbeam can’t find anyone to get along with in Cola. The SCGOP is a lost dog in high grass. They’ve forgotten fiscal conservatism and embraced BIG GOVERNMENT. There’s not a whit of difference between the SCGOP and SC Democrats. Just a bunch of drunken sailors on shore leave.
Heck, most of the GOP leadership are Democrat shape-shifters recruited by the late Carroll Campbell during his stint as Gov. Any surprises they Dem-cum-Republican members of the General Assembly love to spend tax dollars? Not here.

I know you wanted to use this item as a launching off point for a post about RINO’s in SC, but this release is actually a sign of the ineffectiveness and incompetence of the ACLU in SC. There was an ACLU office in SC for years (hence the use of the phrase “New South Carolina Office” in the release), until the national organization had to step in and take over due to the problems within the local chapter. I imagine this release is the result of the reorganization.
