FITSNews – June 28, 2008 – Since we’ve always been such big fans of animal adoption here at FITSNews (who can forget the loveable Todd), we decided we’d finally take the plunge today and pick up a rescue puppy.

Her name is “Peyton” (full name: Peyton Williams Manning Folks ), and her mom was hit by a car shortly after she and her brothers and sisters were born. Peyton is 11 weeks old, sweet as she can be and is up-to-date on all her shots. She loves playing with little kids, and even appears to be getting along well with Ollie the cat (editor’s note: no small feat ).

We’ve always thought rescue dogs were the best dogs because a) they’re grateful just to have a home and b) they’re usually mixed breeds (i.e. better temperament).

Anyway, if you’re interested in adopting one of Peyton’s adorable brothers or sisters, check out South Carolina’s own SQ Rescue website. Ms. Mary Key Escue and her team are some of the best people in the business, working hard to help find homes each year for thousands of abandoned, mistreated and needy animals.

And if you’re from outside South Carolina, you can visit for a list of available rescue dogs waiting to be adopted all over the country.
