Forgive me, but I just don’t see the educational importance of such a song. I was so embarrassed for myself and my daughter last year when it was included in the Kindergarten “graduation ceremony”. I simply don’t understand why my children are being taught to stick out their bottoms and tongues to song??? I love music and think there are so many more tasteful choices that could be made. Whatever happened to being tasteful, full of grace and appreciating and practicing music to the best of our abilities?

Of course, if the educational system is teaching that we originate from monkey’s then it is perfect.

Isn’t there a higher quality song that could be taught?

I don’t believe the f*****, language is needed. Remember this song is mainly used by children. Let’s be a little more respectful of those who choose not to use this language.

My daughter just did her end of year program for Preschool last night. They did A Tooty Ta and it was great! All the kids loved doing it – very fun and funny for use to watch. I made sure to get it on video for future blackmail material – LOL. Great song and dance for little tiny kids.

if u knew anything about child development then u would realize that this dance is great for coordination and balance and it gives kids the chance to actually be kids instead of adults wanting them to grow up so damn fast instead of criticizing this dance u should ask your children if they like it and like acting funny then make a decision from there or maybe u should just teach your children what u want them to learn instead of what they need to learn

what is wrong with you people. theres nothing wrong with kids learning from play. thats the best way for them to learn. Tooty Ta is a great song to sing with children. One – they love it and also for these reasons…….

*Social
-Singing creates positive feelings and a “classroom community.”
-Singing relieves stress and creates feelings of “well being.”
-Relationships between teachers and students are strengthened as they
enjoy something together.
-Children learn to listen and follow directions

Physical
-Singing and dancing oxygenate the brain.
-Singing is multi-sensory and improves gross motor skills and
coordination.
-Cross lateral activities force both sides of the brain to communicate.

Language
-Singing enhances phonological awareness, which is a key to beginning
reading.
-Alliteration, rhyme, and rhythm are developed in a natural way.
-Oral language and auditory memory are nurtured through songs and rhymes.
-Fluency is strengthened through repetition of the words.
-Children get to use their imaginations and create pictures in their
brains, which will help them with comprehension when they read.

Math
-Sequence and patterning skills are developed.
-When you give children a worksheet, they rarely say, “Can I do that
again?”
-With a song and movement activity, they will be motivated to “do it
again.”
-Every song, every poem, every finger play, every chant is building a
foundation for literacy. Above all, they put a smile on children’s
faces and help them fall in love with language!

I have a 7 year old and they used to sing this silly song in her kindergarten class, and the kids still love it. What is wrong with the teaching kids to enjoy life? How can the teachers teach this to their students if they don’t know how to do it theirselves? YOU are an idiot.

I am absolutely shocked by the language on this page. When you were a child, did you enjoy just being silly sometimes? Did it make the adults more relatable to you when they sang silly songs, and did silly dances with you? If you related to an adult were you more likely to listen better to an adult that you enjoyed to be with. If this is so disgusting for you, why don’t you look at recess, maybe we should take recess away, what a waste of time. God forbid children should use their imaginations and build friendships. Think of what horrible disgusting people you are, you take time out of your useless lives to bash a school district for making learning fun. You are a waste of the tax payers money. Children should enjoy going to school. You people are lower then scum. Why don’t you sit at your desks, look up some porn, and keep out of the lives of children, you do NOT deserve them.
