Conservation Voters Get Their Brag On
OF COURSE A “FRIENDLY INCUMBENT” POLICY HELPS
FITSNews – June 25, 2008 – South Carolina’s environmental advocates put out a press release today touting their record in primary elections, which of course La Socialista’s blog reprinted verbatim like the left-wing suck-ups they are.
Anyway, the Conservation Voters claimed victory in 20 of 30 races they were involved in, which might have been impressive had they not endorsed incumbents in almost all of those races – regardless of the candidates’ environmental records.
We’re all for the environment here at FITSNews – in fact, upping the funding for the State Conservation Bank has been something we’ve supported for years. The way we see it, our state should be doubling – if not tripling – what we spend on this essential engine of our multi-billion dollar tourism industry.
Having said that, the Conservation Voters have lost all legitimacy in our eyes – and not just for their kooky antics, either.
The simple truth is they’d rather keep cutting back room deals and receiving table scraps from those currently in power that going out on a limb and electing common sense conservatives who truly understand that conserving natural resources is vital to our state’s long-term economic health.

With friends like the greenies, who needs enemies. Did anyone notice that every Republican Senator they endorsed lost (except Martin)? Or maybe that’s just part of their strategy to rid the Statehouse of pro-business votes.
