DeMint Endorses Shealy
STAKES KEEP GETTING HIGHER IN GOP SENATE PRIMARY
FITSNews – June 19, 2008 – United States Senator Jim DeMint threw his weight behind Republican Katrina Shealy in a red hot State Senate primary race earlier today.
Calling Shealy a “strong fiscal conservative,” DeMint said that the former Lexington County GOP Chairwoman would be “the strong voice for change we need in the State Senate.”
DeMint’s endorsement made no mention of incumbent Sen. Jake Knotts, who is battling to keep his Lexington County seat after edging Shealy by four points back on June 10. Because neither candidate received fifty percent of the vote, however, a runoff election will be held on June 24 to determine the winner.
Shealy was endorsed back in April by Gov. Mark Sanford, who has scrapped with Knotts on practically every issue under the sun. Knotts was recently endorsed by La Socialista , despite the fact that the newspaper effectively called him a dumb bully who “twists the facts” and “presents half-truths.”

That endorsement from The State was one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen. It was somehow vaguely linked to school vouchers, but damn, if you’re going to endorse a candidate, stand behind him.

I have to admit as far as state senate primaries are concerned this one has been HUGE. I heard the radio add last night with Joe Wilson endorsing Jake Knotts.
I guess if you are are a Knotts fan you are hoping that DeMints endorsement will do about as much as it did for Romney. If you are a Shealy fan you are wishing that Wilson would have held off to endorse until after the elections were over a la McCain.

If memory serves me, Randy ran Beasley’s US Senate Campaign vs. DeMint…
And if memory serves me, Terry Sullivan and his band of merry muckrakers control DeMint’s strings…so is the Senate Caucus who employs Sullivan and Co…really pulling for Shealy?

Who has the most out of district support? Personally, I look to who has the most local endorsements and it looks like Sen. Knotts has the advantage considering most of Shealy’s support is from out of the district.

I asked a question about Shealy being married but living with another man that went unanswered so, it sounds like that goes both ways. And with the campaign of call in complaints to Congressmen Wilson’s office as reported on SCHotline, it appears that others are “too scared” also.
Is she married to one man, but lives with another? Value voters would like to know.

Shealy lives in Red Bank with her husand- they were seperated a while back and lived in seperate houses but worked things out and moved back in together a while ago. I personally see them together publically at least once a week at dinner. This campaign of rumors and personal attacks is very typical of Jake and Rod and is a last ditch effort born out of desperation. She may not be perfect, but at least she is more concerned with the issues that matter as opposed to the mud slinging Jake is famous for. So lets recap
1. She does not have a boyfriend
2. She is married
3. She lives with her husband- her biggest supporter
4. Jake knows he’s going to loose and will do and say anything.
5. Vote Shealy

Dear Rumors: I guess you’re technically correct that Ms. Shealy doesn’t have “a” boyfriend. Her husband’s legal filings say she has multiple boyfriends she’s committed adultery with.
Besides be a ‘ho, she’s a tool of the insurance industry too. I guess the skills transfer?
