Ok. I listened to Mr. Poe’s comments. Now, what’s the point? I couldn’t help but notice that the man advocates the use of coal and drilling more oil wells off the coast. Coal is the dirtiest fuel available and drilling more oil wells off the coast of the US will not lower the cost of fuel for us and will increase the world’s oil supply only minutely. For one thing, the oil does not belong to you and me; it belongs to the multinational oil companies and they will sell it on the open market. Another thing: no one is keeping the oil companies from drilling for more oil now. They have plenty of oil leases of which they are NOT taking advantage. It is clear that the multinational oil companies LIKE the oil supply just fine the way it is. Note that I continue to call them the “multinational oil companies.” That’s because we don’t own them and they do not operate for the benefit of America. They operate to make money, not serve us. They are the LEAST of patriots among us. Mr. Poe is a surrogate for the oil companies. I didn’t look, but I would be willing to bet he is Republican. Okay, I went and looked. He is a Republican.

So, what’s this got to do with light bulbs? The florescent light bulb is one way to cut back on the nation’s use of energy, albeit only a temporary one. The sane person’s solution to energy independence is to reduce our use of energy and develop new clean sources, such as wind and solar power. The oil companies have no solution. Hey, they are in the business of selling us oil products. And remember, a corporation is NOT a person. It does not breathe the air, give birth to children, grow up, or vote. But they do contribute LARGE amounts of cash to get congressmen elected so they can give little five minute speeches on the House floor. Congressman Poe is not interested in solving America’s energy problems. He is interested in getting re-elected. His district is the Beaumont, Texas, area. The main business there is oil.

When you see things like this on the Internet, just stop and think. Just follow the money.

Wonder how much the lobbyists for CFLightbulbs paid members of Congress to legislate these into existence. It’s kind of like insurance…it’s one of the few businesses that the state and federal governments keep alive by legislating their perpituity. Mind you, the EPA is part of the Bush Administration as well as is Ted Stevens and his son, two legislators who have been exposed for what they are, criminals against the “common good”. The great part about America is that there is plenty of greed and stupidity to go around. Ever been to an NFL football game?

When are the people of this country going to wake up and vote these idiots that are in congress out of office and put some one in there that will do something that will really benefit the people and the country instead of what is the best for the Senate and the Congress.

Example: Their retirement benefits, that we pay for. and do the right thing by Social Security and put it back in the trust and stop giving it away to every immigrant and who ever else comes along.

Better wake up people, we are going down the tubes in a hurry.

Common sense… American sense. Start electing more like Mr. Poe.

Start throwing these other people out of office folks!!! Congress and the Senate have forgotten who they represent. Start to organize locally in your own Town & City, School District, County and work your way up to State & Federal Goverment and elect representatives & senators who represent you and your views and NOT special intrests — start throwing these proffesional politicial hacks out of office, before it’s to late. They have forgotten who the Boss is — the American People, the American Tax Payer.

the government has taken away our choses for watching tv. telling us that we either have to join some plan like satellite etc. or buy a box that we are not entirely reimmbursed for. now the light bulbs. what are they thinking.
