well just further proof of my hypothesis that club for growth $ for a candidate means a fitsnews undorsement for his or her opponent . stop being so predictable and quit carrying h2o for sanford. he thre u under the bus quickly enuffn didnt he? while fascist enuff on fiscal issues, i hardly think u and she would see eye to eye on the big issues of our day, like strip clubs.

Yes, Republicans need to try something a little different. But if they raise taxes as you implicitly propose, they cease to be Republicans.

Perhaps Ms. Haskins (like many in SC state government) is in the wrong party.

“Lower taxes? S. C. rates 44th out of the 50 states in taxes paid per capita by its citizens. School choice? South Carolinians have the right to send their kids to any public or private school that they choose. Less gov’t? It would seem that if you are last in most of the good categories and first in many of the bad, that many you ought to try something different for a change and not more of the same. Fiscally conservative, free market reforms–give me a few examples of some on the state level that you would suggest be passed. This state can’t even raise the nation’s lowest cigarette tax (thanks to the governor’s veto) to help the poor obtain health insurance or prevent our youth from taking up smoking.

How much then do we value civility? I mean, do we take a person who is more conservative even if we can’t stand them? Do you want a bunch of people who are all conservative but won’t get anything done because of the rancor? I’m not knocking Ms. Nanney, I don’t know her and I’m thrilled that she’s fiscally conservative, I’d ask the same question no matter who Ms. Haskin’s opponent was.
