First of all, if you’re going to try and criminalize legal campaign contributions made by other people, it’s probably not a good idea to illegally funnel soft money into your own political races.  It’s probably also not a good idea to illegally coordinate campaign efforts with sitting Republican State Senators, or to make illegal automated calls supporting their reelection efforts using that soft money.

Finally, as the Palmetto Scoop is now reporting, it’s probably not a good idea to put all of your intentions down in an e-mail to elected officials …
