FITSNews - May 3, 2008 - As promised, below are audio recordings of phone calls placed by State Sen. Randy Scott from the Dorchester County jailhouse on the night of his arrest for driving under the influence last month.
These recordings were obtained by FITSNews on a source-protected basis …
In the recordings - which include extensive profane outbursts - Sen. Scott demands among other things that a magistrate “get off his ass” and release him from jail.
Each call also reminds the participants that their conversations are being recorded.

Better check into, “source-protected basis”, as the courts have ruled otherwise.In fact, every confidential relationship except, attorney-client has been smashed the Court. And given your past coverage of the Court, I would not bet on your position.
I think it takes courage to print that. However, there is a fine line between courage and stupidity. I do believe you just crossed that milestone.

wee willie can’t decide if he wants this blog to be a porno site or a cheap imitation of the National Inquirer. We all know Senator Scott had problems walking and standing because of his prosthetic leg.
And, everyone knows the lady in the truck was a Nun who had a flat and needed a ride back to the Convent. Amen, Sister!
The only ones who care about this are Scott, his family and sic(k) willie because he thinks he can get cheap hits from it.
What’s interesting is the lawful order by a Judge telling a Charleston paper not to publish the recordings and telling the Sheriff to stop distributing them. “Reasonable and lawful” according to BIN Legal.
Even more interesting is it appears willie knowingly and intentionally violated the Judge’s order by posting the recordings on his porno site (uhh, on his political blog). The Boys From Charlotte will enjoy this. Word is they’re using rental cars now that willie spotted them.
Anyone want to bet on how long before willie is forced to remove the recordings? And, now that willie has knowingly violated the spirit of the Judge’s order, how long before the Contempt citation is issued?
Maybe willie and his buddy, the former Treasurer, can share a cell for a few months. Might do them both some good. No! Thomas is going to a Federal joint. willie will go to a State facility.
Visiting day is Sunday at most of them. So we hear.

odds are that it will be until monday midday when the court finally has a chance to consider the issue. even if they order these recordings to be removed at that time, they’ll be all over the planet.
pretty good timing, but i’d don’t have the cojones … or insanity … to do something like that.

This is a perfect example of why the judicial system is South Carolina is so screwed up. Randy Scott is responsible for appointed at least two or three of the magistrates in Dorchester County. And, as far as I can tell in between all of the profanities and the times he calls one of magistrates named Michael lazy, this magistrate is related to Senator Scott. Then, Senator Scott thinks that when he gets arrested in the middle of the night, these magistrates are at his beck and call and when his wife wakes them up at 4:00 am they should run down to the jail and have a special bond hearing just so he can be released from jail. This may be a political hatchet job, but sounds like Senator Scott and the magistrates in this county need a lesson in ethics. They brought it on themselves. The phone lines clearly say over and over that they are taped.

Aside from the particular mess with Scott as I don’t care about him either way, this brings to mind a couple of issues.
1 How do these tapes get out? I understand they are not privileged, but why would any sheriff put out this type of private conversation? Are we going to be viewing his bathroom tapes soon?
2. Who the hell invented that long, boring, maddening phone system? I needed a stiff drink just listening to the operator go on forever. I wonder what the rate is as no doubt it is one of those “insider” contracts that sheriffs routinely use to treat people in trouble like cash machines.
Law enforcement in this state is populated by peasants with badges. They have little education, and the integrity of a spineless fish. This affair shows once again that I sure as hell wanna stay away from anyone with a badge.

michael is michael londergan, a magistrate who is randy’s nephew. randy appoints all magisrates in dorchester county since he controls a majority of the weighted vote. I won’t say who gina is since there was no other distinguishing aspects but man in the county can figure that out. what did he mean by thanking her for tonight? I wonder.

What struck me was his “I am a diabetic ” and need water comment. Now, as a diabetic, I can tell you if Mr. Scott was drinking wine, which is typically loaded in sugar, that was pretty dumb. When I drink it is a light beer, no sugar low carbs, or Scotch, which is the lowest carb no sugar hard stuff out there. The doc says don’t drink at all!
When I am feeling that low blood sugar thing coming on, water is not going to do the trick. I need a bit of hard candy or a small glass of juice. Scott lost me with those remarks.
I live with what he said he has everyday. If he had a constant thirst, it was because his blood sugar was out of control. Two things do that. Too much sugar or too much drinking. Damn if I would admit such on a recorded call.
I gave him a pass on the false leg and the sobriety test, because, one day, I might have one due to what I live with. But, when he played the diabetic card so to speak, well , I admit, it sort of pissed me off.
Now, maybe his blood sugar could help his defense. Too high or too low can leave one out of it, so to speak, but I just get one of those bad feelings about this guy. And, I don’t like Governor’s mafia! At least the guy didn’t go apeshit with a woman or anything.
But, hey, what do I know?

This is a ploy to take attention away from Ray Nash money fraud in his Department and need more Investigation to where as other moneys are charge from our Inmates, that goes in there pockets. Someone need to Investigate the Rose klan , and how he has screw people out of oneys in the past 15 years, Like the excell scam, Ferst nationalBank loan his wife was involve in, Some news paper article about his being a crook with the Navy, The heir property land scam with Shelton Parker…??????……

What can I say man? WOW! What a fine example of grammer and spelling! Is this what we can expect from Randy Scott supporters? Then Mike Rose has nothing to worry about in the upcoming elections, because Scott’s supporters won’t even be able to fill out a voter registration card.

Why all this banter about the legality of the tapes and Mike Rose is interesting, lets get to the meat of this story. . .
1) Wikiweirdia lays a bet that the Gina he calls is Gina Sams. He’s right. As to what he was doing calling her, I guess Wikiweirida missed the “thanks for tonight” comment and the fact that Scott was followed from the Bi-Lo parking lot where an “unknown female” was seen exiting his car. If someone wants to have some real fun, they should FOIA the tag number of the female to confirm what the bulk of Dorchester County Employees already know to be true.
2) Would it be possible to elect Mrs. Scott instead? While I don’t know her personally I was amused to hear her annouce that she was not going to chap his ass on the phone because she knew she was being recorded, after which she informed him, “I’m smarter than you, A LOT.” I guess if my wife found out I was “driving around” with my former secretary in my car in the middle of the night and than had the balls to have the secretary call my wife to inform her of my predicament she would chap my ass too. At least Mrs. Scott shows some level of education and self-restraint!
3) Granted the road test is difficult to hear (note to cops - next time turn off your radio in the car so we can hear the more interesting conversation occuring with the drunks outside the vehicle), but did I understand this Senator to say he has only a GED? Can’t we just stop the conversation right there - enough said. Nah, what fun would that be . . .
4) What in the hell is wrong with our judicial selection process such that a local Senator can appoint his own nephew to the bench? Does anyone know his qualifications? Would it be possible to start choosing judges based on their actual knowledge of the law. Hey, at least the guy had the common sense to NOT appear to release his uncle in the middle of the night . . . in fact, none of the Magistrate’s actually responded to his pleas so we must give them some ounce of credit for that.
5) Why is it in Dorchester County when anybody gets themselves in a jam we have to make ourselves look worse by reminding everyone about all the other piles of shit our other leaders have stepped in to?
So far we have heard:
Randy was busted for DUI b/c Ray Nash set him up.
Ray Nash, whose employee stold money from the County, is using this an a ploy to take attention away from himself (hard to believe for even the fondest of conspiracy theory lovers) .
Mike Rose shouldn’t beat Randy b/c he too has skeltons in his closet, including dealing with a former judge who was indicted and later killed himself in jail.
The Magistrates are screwed up b/c Randy appointed them and they work with dumb deputies all day.
For God’s sake . . . will the blame game ever end? I can’t believe someone out there can’t find a way to tie in the Auditor’s candidate that’s about to be indicted for giving tax breaks to all her friends, the several DUI’s of another state representative, or perhaps some of the dirt (truckloads of dirt) on County Council. I wonder with the reputation we are making for ourselves down here if anyone with any moral fortitude whatsoever will ever run for office again. And even if they did, would we have the sense enough to actually elect them? Then, what would we have to talk about?
