FITSNews - April 25, 2008 - This was a big week for GOP presidential nominee John McCain’s “Secure the Center” strategy …
On Monday, he visited the Edmund Pettis Bridge in Selma, Alabama to pay tribute to civil rights leaders including Democratic Congressman John Lewis.
“I’ve seen courage in action on many occasions in my life, but none any greater or used for any better purpose than the courage shown by John Lewis and the good people who marched for justice with him,” said McCain
Next up, McCain went to the Ninth Ward in New Orleans to bash President Shrub-nuts for the government’s ass-backward response to Hurricane Katrina. Yeah, that’s low-hanging fruit … but it’s there, and McCain didn’t hesitate to offer an emphatic “Yes” when asked if the government’s failure went ”all the way to the top.”
And just this morning, McCain criticized the North Carolina Republican Party for being “out of touch with reality” after it refused to pull a controversial ad criticizing Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama. The GOP nominee called the ad ”too extreme” and “unacceptable.”
You know, there’s a Jimmy Eat World song we’re thinking of …
