Shouldn’t These Kids Be In Class?
CELEBRATING READINGÂ IN A STATE THAT CAN’T READ
FITSNews – April 10, 2008 – According to the S.C. Ministry of Failure and Non-Competition, over a thousand kids from South Carolina public schools marched about two blocks today to celebrate the importance of reading, which we think is pretty oxymoronic considering this state is 99.9% illiterate.
Of course what’s entirely understandable about this march is that it was only two blocks. With 26.4% of our kids overweight in this state, those little fatties weren’t about to make it any further than that.
But seriously, people, in a state that’s basically too stupid to live, shouldn’t these little weeble wobbles be in class instead of participating in some State Department political rally?

I am pretty sick of your critique of the citizenry of this state. Why not pack your carpetbag and head back North? Perhaps some anger management sessions will change your attitude. Or maybe you negativity comes from never being taken on a field study in elementary school.
You don’t seem to understand how education works. You don’t seem to understand that anyone can take any set of numbers and spin them however one wishes.
When is the last time you set foot in a public school? Do you go in and volunteer? Do you go out and talk to public school teachers to see what they think? Or do you think that they are such an ignorant lot that they could not form a coherent sentence?
There are problems in this state, for sure. Turning schools over so that the “market” can run them is not the answer. Just look at the condition of the unfettered national market.

Another cheap attack on children and responsible teachers and staff in a state with a “Minimally Adequate” standard for public education.
We’re waiting and waiting for sic(c) willie to weigh in with his opinion on SC’s “Minimally Adequate” standard. Why no comment, willie??
What about it sic(k) willie? You proud of the standard?
All we see from willie is brainless ultra-right wing paid political wacko advertisements from carpetbaggers and kooks like SCRG and Voice for School Choice (or, as BIN News calls them, The Wacko Twins).

Hypocritical… I seem to remember the State House steps being packed by children in support of SCRG in recent years. I’m sure if you polled those SCRG kids, roughly 12% would have known why they were there with the unusually unattractive Randy Page.
