[...] Fortunately, Bob Barr came along and now there is a candidate with the same values as Ron Paul and they’re running in the general election. Plus, there’s even talk of Dr. Paul giving his nod to Bob Barr. Read more about a possible endorsement here. [...]

Right on Brian! There is intelligent life out there. The socialists have already won the presidential race. How about letting McCain pick either Obama or Hillary for his running mate and be done with it.

We need a true leader with integrity, common sense, and the courage to stand up for what is right. I don't know anything about Barr yet, but I believe it is my patriotic duty to put forth the effort to investigate the man and decide if he is the leader we are lacking. I can't in good conscious give my vote to any of Barrack, Hillary, or John.

All you people whining about Barr possibly running make me laugh. There is very little difference between Obama, Clinton, or McCain. I couldn't in good conscience vote for either of the CFR socialists or CFR fascist. The logic that you present that I should vote against my principles and vote for someone who is opposed to my principles just to ensure the candidate of another party doesn't win is insane! The lesser of two evils is still evil. Why is this concept so hard for you to grasp? Instead of whining maybe you should be promoting Instant Runoff Voting. In your 1992 example, If you assume all Perot voters would have put Bush as a second choice, then there would have been a different outcome. If McCain loses as I think he will, it's because the Republican party failed to have a real conservative as it's nominee.

I am not gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. I don't smoke anything legal or illegal. I don't use any recreational drugs unless you count some occassional alcohol. I wouldn't die if people told me I couldn't pull the occassional slot machine handle. I'm not a Muslim or a Jew.

However, I take the words of Martin Niemoller seriously. He was the German priest who expressed regret after WW II when he was released from a prison camp that he did not speak out when the government came to take away all the various groups of people they had targetted. He said that when they came to take him away, there was nobody left to speak up for him.

I don't intend on watching idly as our government restricts individual freedoms, even if they do not affect me. THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY IS THE PARTY INTERESTED IN PROTECTING INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.

Just because your vote doesn't have a significant chance of causing the recipient to win, doesn't mean your vote was wasted. In fact, votes cast for someone who doesn't have a CHANCE of winning carry more weight in some respects. Consider the fact that Ron Paul is still getting in the neighborhood of 8% of the GOP primary vote. Considering all the factors in play, it means the people that vote(d) for Ron Paul are making a statement. They, like me, would not have voted for a Republicrat. They saw someone who respected the Constitution, and individual liberties. They understood he was the only candidate who looked at the Bill of Rights like they did and more importantly, like the founding fathers did. (To me, Ron Paul is a Libertarian regardless of his registered party)

Now since it is highly doubtful Ron Paul will be on the General Election ballot, it is time for those people to vote Libertarian and a bunch of others to join them.

You see... this election isn't about who wins -- it's about who loses. You do if you vote for four more years of the same BS -- If you say to the entrenched political interests that its okay for them to steal life liberty and property. You Lose!

If instead, you vote for freedom -- for the LP -- you will let others who are a bit more of a follower, who are a bit less informed, who are a bit more controlled by fear, that it is okay to join the ranks of the disgruntled. And when they start voting LIbertarian, more will follow and before you know it, the whole thing will have snowballed into the first Libertarian President and this country will be on a new path of freedom for all.

So whether the nominee is Bob Barr, Wayne Allyn Root, George Phillies, Mary Ruwart or any of the others running, I will be voting for freedom -- I will be voting for the LP nominee. PERIOD. (unless by some strange turn of events Imperato wins the nomination which I highly doubt would happen)

For the record, I am an undecided delegate to the LNC convention.

So we have a choice between a liberal warmonger (McCain) and a liberal who wants out of Iraq (Obama)? Thanks, but no thanks. We believe in the principles of liberty this nation was founded on, and will happily vote for Ron Paul or Bob Barr.
When will the 'GOPLoyalists' understand that that mindset reduces voting to little more than cheering for your favorite team? That's fine for football, but moronic for selecting our nation's leadership. The GOP has not been 'loyal' to our Constitution, to our liberties, or to their own promises, so they do not deserve automatic loyalty in return.
Oh, and as far as the all-powerful "but McCain will appoint conservative justices argument," I'd ask you to look over this piece: http://www.amconmag.com/2008/2008_03_10/article2.html

This message is directed to those of you worried about a Dem in the White House. If it's because of Bobb Barr, so be it. If that's what the stupid American electorate wants, then let them have it. We'll get wherever we are headed a whole lot quicker. As for me I'm tired of voting against someone. The Socialists and Communists can take the country, but they'll never take me. Good luck Bobb.

If people would just vote their conscience, we'd be ok. Instead they are always weighing back and forth between the better of two poisons.

This country is f***** if we don't break away from the fraud of the two party system we've been locked into.
