Scott Talley Needs To Get A Life

BANNING LAP DANCES? PLEASE … GO CUT OUR TAXES OR SOMETHING

FITSNews - March 29, 2008 - It could be we’re just frustrated ’cause our annual fantasy baseball draft weekend didn’t include a visit to the strip club this year, but there’s something about Rep. Scott Talley’s new anti-lap dance bill that rubs us the wrong way. Like trying to keep a lot of people from getting rubbed the right way, for starters.

Look, we know Talley is just pandering to right-wing zealots in the conservative Upstate Senate district he’s trying to win, but seriously, check out this ridiculousness:

South Carolina will be among a handful of states to institute a sweeping no-touch law for exotic dancers if a bill introduced this week becomes law. Under the proposal, exotic dancers could dance only on stages and would have to stay six feet from strip club patrons while performing.

That means no lap dances — a profitable type of dance for performers in which a patron is seated and the dancer is in immediate contact …

The bill’s aim, Talley says, is to reduce the “secondary effects” associated with such clubs.

Last time we checked, the only “secondary effect” of a lap dance was getting a boner. Which isn’t illegal, Thank God, or else our founding editor would be serving some serious time.

Our point is this, with so many legitimate problems facing our state, why is government wasting its time trying to ban friggin’ lap dances? Oh, we forgot, Rep. Talley has an election to win. Both in its ridiculousness and political expediency, this bill is vintage S.C. politics …

The more they moralize, the greater the likelihood they’ll sooner or later get caught with an intern or some Girls Gone Wild special charging $4300 an hour.

At least you have the decency not to pretend to be someone you’re not. Few of us are saints, even though many of us would wish people believe we were.

That wasn’t meant in a bad way, btw.

That’s gonna drive more business to Charlotte. We give incentives to lure actresses to the state to make movies and then drive our young, budding, stars of tomorrow out of the state with these silly laws. It just doesn’t make sense.

So Sherry (I mean earl), does that mean you will quit schilling for Wheeler Tillman on your blog and also stop sending the Club For Growth, SCRG, and everyone else you disagree with harrassing emails, while writing your polite musings.

Just asking?

Okay, okay. The BIN News staff agonized over this for several brazillion hours. What should BIN’s reaction be. The Great BIN has concern about sic(k) willie, and it pains her to agree with him. But, in this rare case…

Don’t deny sic(k) willie his lap dance. The boy needs the release. If not, he’ll blow a gasket. Plus, his $25 “contributions” support the economy.

Yeah, Earl, ’cause the guys at Club for Growth, SCRG, etc., etc., are just nice guys who never say a bad word about anybody.

Will this bill ban lap dances and other acts by House interns as well? Talley and his gang have to give up their fun if they are going to take ours away!

To get me started, again, on this issue is probably going to give me a heart attack at age 25, which is why I won’t. All I’ll say is what a bunch of F*cktards we have in he G.A, G*d damn moralistic dumb ass C*nt-faced F*cktards. And those lovely epithets go for the drooling idiots at the Palmetto Family Council too.

S.C. does not need the “TalleyWacker” bill! Who the hell is sending these idiots to Columbia?

By Mike Honcho on March 30th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

What happens in the Champagne Room stays in the Champagne Room.

These people need to stay out of Columbia before someone gets hurt.

With the state of the educational system in South Carolina, what else is an aspiring girl to look forward to…. I guess if you can’t fix education, you can dash a poor girl’s dreams of becoming a professional dancer and her suitor’s dreams of marrying (well most of the time they are common-law-marriages) his dancing sweetheart.

You know this is the kinf of thing that worrys the hell out of me. I run marketing for a club in Chicago and we are constantly worried about either or Alochol lisense or entertainment. In our city, you can’t serve booze while having nude girls. I hope this doesnt get worse.
