We’re Not Ready
GREAT SANTINI DRAFT LOOMS THIS WEEKEND FOR SIC WILLIE AND HIS FARTKNOCKERS
FITSNews – March 28, 2008 – History may not remember the Industrial Revolution, Pearl Harbor, Watergate or the O.J. Simpson trial, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the heart-wrenching last-day collapse of Sic Willie’s FITS Fartknockers‘ fantasy baseball team will likely fall right behind the Immaculate Conception (Reception?) and the Second Coming as “World’s Most Important Thing … Ever.”
Seriously, Tom Glavine. Seven earned runs in a third of an inning? On the last day of the Santini season? Thanks a lot, jack ass. Of course we’re not still bitter about it or anything.
In fact, with the soothing words of Bart Giamatti ringing in our ears, we’re headed out the door right now for the pomp and circumstance that is the 2008 Great Santini League Draft. And sorry FITS fans, but you should expect some light posting this weekend as we navigate spreadsheets, injury reports and strip clubs, and as Sic Willie prepares to participate in another important panel discussion this weekend at the University of South Carolina.
UPDATE – In case you’re wondering who that guy swinging the bat is, it’s Phillies’ second baseman Chase Utley, whom Sic covets with his first round pick.
