Kershaw S.C. Is Geographically-Challenged
WHAT THE HELL IS IT DOING IN LANCASTER COUNTY?
FITSNews – March 25, 2008 – As part of our ongoing investigation into unethical lawyer-legislators like State Sen. Vincent Sheheen – one of several ambulance chasers who have traded their public responsibility for personal profit (here and here) – we decided to take a little trip to Kershaw, S.C. to pull some public records and conduct a few interviews.
Of course, it would have been nice to know before we spent $3.38 a gallon on gas that the city of Kershaw isn’t located in Kershaw County, it’s in Lancaster County.
WTF? Is this state so stupid it can’t even put the right city in the right county? The answer is “yes,” people. South Carolina is that stupid.

I seem to recall that Kershaw was in Kershaw County until about 20 years ago when some local squabble caused them to “secede” from their namesake county. Do we have a problem in SC with secession?

Perhaps you is so stupid not to research your trip before you spent your precious 3.38 per gallon. The very first result in a Google search for “kershaw, sc” returns a site that states clearly that “Kershaw is located in Lancaster County.” Hopefully you will not try to grace us with your presence again.

Kershaw was in Kershaw County until about 15 years ago when the citizens of Kershaw decided they had more in common with Lancaster County and voted to move the town from Kershaw to Lancaster County.

You spent several years in state government and failed to learn the county seats of each county. Pretty smooth dipshit! Stick to beating your girlfriend.

Au contraire. Up until the early 1970’s, the Town of Kershaw was split between Lancaster County and Kershaw County. Town Hall was in Kershaw County but the Springs Cotton Mill building was in Lancaster County. When Lancaster County decided to build a new high school in the area but Kershaw County would not, a large area around the town left Kershaw County and annexed into Lancaster County. The citizens decided to leave the name of the town as it always was after deciding to move the county line.
Granted it is confusing but I guess that old saying is true about South Carolina: too small to be a republic, too large to be an asylum.

I will have to concur with “Slicker than Willie”, you truly are a dipshit.
I am sure there are plenty of States up North who will take someone like yourself who is obviously blessed with more in the cranium than the rest of us. Do us all a favor and pack your shit!
To your credit, coming to your site is like watching midget porn. I know that I am wasting my own time (and probably growing hairy palms), but i still watch it. …I just don’t tell anyone.

I’ll bet every little tic and wiggle in county borders that don’t relate to streams has some long-past connivance behind it.

I can not believe you, called us stupid. I found this site looking for something else, but this really upset me that someone so stupid that they didn’t know that Kershaw was in Lancaster county, would call me STUPID. Please get a LIFE…………..If you’re gonna talk about a state learn the FACTS.
