GAMECOCKS FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW … AGAIN

FITSNews - March 25, 2008 - Just days after telling a reporter he had “grown up” following two arrests last year, South Carolina freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia is facing fresh charges, meaning there’s a good chance the best quarterback prospect in Gamecock history may never play a down at the school. From The State:

Garcia, 20, was one of three players cited and charged with underage drinking after police found them with coolers of beer outside East Quad dormitory at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the first of two incidents involving Garcia in a five-hour span at the dorm that houses the majority of USC players.

The other incident apparently had something to do with a fire extinguisher, but we had already slit our wrists at that point in the story and started losing consciousness. In other news, why the hell can’t the rest of The State newspaper be as good as their sports page? Seriously, it’s the only section of the newspaper that’s worth a damn, which is saying a lot considering how bad South Carolina sucks.

Anyway, we’re sure all the overall-wearing inbreds who populate Clemson chatrooms are celebrating this morning, sort of like they do when cans of Skoal go on sale. Or when the cow udders they milk every day are nice and supple. Mmmm, Miss Delilah Belle … that … feels … so … good …

“best quarterback prospect in Gamecock history”

wow. that sums up Carolina football pretty nicely.

the drinking age on college campuses needs to be 18 .

Does the USC atheletic dept employ a fulltime bailbondsman?

I would like to see how many USC students have been ticketed for underage drinking on campus and see what the punishment handed down by the university was? They should follow the same protocol. I have 3 sisters all who were ticketed in 5 points at one time or another for underage possession and they got a slap on the wrist, paid a fine and moved on and they all graudated.

Sorry, but Garcia doesn’t get to be like other college kids because he’s a celebrity. Being a celebrity comes with plenty of perks, but it also makes him a target. That might not be fair, but that’s life and bitching about it won’t change a thing. If he can figure that out and get his act together, he has a great shot at making millions in the NFL, unlike the rest of his classmates who, at least for now, can enjoy being regular beer-drinking college kids without the fear of being targeted like a celebrity.

I guess Garcia has to decide whether he wants short-term pleasure (beer with his buddies) or greater long-term rewards (cocktails with Hef).

Were you three drunk sisters all on full scholarship to play football? Had they been arrested twice before? Did they ever “key” a ptopfesor’s car because he took a good parking place at the campus library? Did they get in a fight in Five Points and then run and hide behind a dumpster until the police found them? Do they have illigetimate children? How about a big tattoo on their arm? How about a hair style that could be deemed “out of the ordinary?”

Just checking to make sure you are using the same standard of comparison for both examples. Thank you.

Gamecocks are nothing but a gang in pads…. Let’s see now….

Quaterbacks taking swings at bouncers? Oh yeah that was last year… And then it disappeared…. How much $$$ did the Alums pay to make that go away???

This year…. Consistant fights down in 5-points…..

Pot arrests…..

What else can they think of…..

And all Spurier does is pout????

He makes all kind of excuses as to why they fail….. Poor guy!!!

If he were 1/2 the coach he thought he was the Gamecocks would be int the top 5….

At Florida all he had was a bunch of thugs…..

Spurier proved that he was a failure as a professional coach…..

I think his recuriting sessions are outside the local jails……

By WhoCares on March 25th, 2008 at 10:42 am

And this is a guy that has allready “keyed” a professors car …. has a kid… and who knows what else he has done….

Oh yeah…. he is a good kid…. Need to have more of these “winners” to have a National Championship at no matter what the cost….

Way to go!!!! Stevie!!!!!

will,
i just love it with the clemson knocks. it makes me proud to be a gold chain wearing, mullet-bearing gamecock! what a blessing it is to live in beautiful places like irmo, lexington, and blythewood when you could have to live like a tater up in the SC foothills.

Big Wallie,

Actually they were all on full scholarschip for academics (there for a purpose just like Steven) No car keying, but they did many times leave a bar and hide when the thought of an undercover was there…like most underage folks do. Not an excuse, just the way it is.

But what the HELL does having a child, a tattoo, and a hairstyle have to do with any argument?

By big wallie on March 25th, 2008 at 12:29 pm

well, it has to do with making decisions, not those regarding the nickel package for the defense and whether or not the outside linebacker is gonna show blitz. I played college football at LSU several decades back. Yeah I know that chaps your ass real good when you consider the ass whippings your cocks have had at their expense.
I was never arrested, graduated and so did most of the guys I played with. The bottom line is… when you choose/agree/decide to represent a university, you need to do that. This boy is a punk. Have Derrick Watson and Demetrius Summers roll up another fat one and relax.

well, it has everything to do with the status of yoru decision-making process. when you agree/decide/choose to represent a university and a major college (as far as enrolment) athetlics program, you must do just that. I played football at LSU a few decades ago. I wsa never arrested and the overwhelming majority of my teammates were not either. Oh sure, one or two every other year for fights, etc. I graduated and so did most of my teammates. But not the repeated serial offenses of this punk. He is a punk. So is Blake Mitchell as they both continue(d) to put themselves above their teammates. Football is a team sport and when you continually do yourself things that harm your teammates, you are a punk.

And to think of it, this boy has never even taken a snap.

Guess he needs to have Derrick Watson, Demetrius Watson and the rest of the dope smokers roll up a fat one to help him relax.

Win some football games and then you can talk. SOS is 21-16 and believe it or not, the heat is on.
