TURNING THE OLD REPUBLICAN PARTY, ELECTORAL MATH ON ITS HEAD

FITSNews - March 24, 2008 - Since 1976, the Republican plan for winning the presidency has consisted of securing the right flank, running to the center where possible, and then “going to the mattresses” in roughly 10-12 battleground states where moderate voters make or break candidates.

In previous decades it was just an overarching strategic theme, but Karl Rove managed to extend the shelf life of the strategy by turning it into a precise science.

Needless to say, John McCain won’t be following the “old school” GOP approach to winning the presidency. In fact, according to a confidential strategy memo shown to FITSNews over the weekend by one of McCain’s top national advisors, we think you’ll be blown away by just how far McCain is planning on veering from the old blueprint.

Stay tuned …

I think I saw the same memo

Let’s see — McCain will pick Hillary as his running mate - they share similar big govt. ideals - he will pick Lieberman as his Sec. of Defense- using those two “democrats” will help him with the “middle” - he will have a religious experience on his trip to the Middle East so he can find Jesus to bring back the religious zealots on the far right to the polls- and he will promise a whopper of a tax cut and another even larger rebate check in 2009.

Those are the main highlights

McCain is a cranky old fart that trots around the world with a gay senator and a lasped Jew…

…so I would not expect too much from him. Or the party that nominated him.
