AMAZING, WE KNOW

FITSNews – March 23, 2008 – Since people in Anderson County can’t read, putting a political message up on a local middle school’s marquee probably wasn’t the most effective mode of communication. A much better approach would have been pointing, or grunting, or drawing pictures in the sand using their fingers. In fact, we have it on good authority that Anderson’s new Egg-Tooth Library is stocked exclusively with coloring books about Nick Nack Paddywhack, Little Boy Blue and the Muffin Man (who lives on Drury Lane).

Of course that didn’t stop the creatively-named Palmetto Middle School (editor’s note: PMS?) from posting a “Thank You” message to all the dim-bulb Andersonians who voted Tuesday to give one of their mouth-breathing school districts another $85.75 million to continue producing a bunch of kids who will end up stacking these for the rest of their lives.

Of course, the point of this post isn’t to show how sh*tty South Carolina’s public schools are, its to show how those sh*tty public schools keep using our money to fund their political activities. Seriously, if our public schools would spend just a little more time educating our kids and little less time campaigning for more money, maybe we wouldn’t be the dumbest state in the nation anymore.
