New York Governor Linked To Prostitution Ring
TOUGH GUY SPITZER SOLICITS HIGH-DOLLAR CALL GIRL ON FEDERAL WIRETAP
FITSNews – March 10, 2008 – New York’s tough guy governor Eliot Spitzer has been busted soliciting a high-dollar prostitute on a federal wiretap, the New York Times is reporting this afternoon. Spitzer – a bareknuckle political brawler who has cultivated his public persona as that of a modern-day Elliot Ness -Â was elected governor a little over a year ago largely on anti-corruption credentials earned during his time as the Empire State’s Attorney General. According to the Times story:
The wiretap recording, made during an investigation of a prostitution ring called Emperors Club VIP, captured a man identified as Client 9 on a telephone call confirming plans to have a woman travel from New York to Washington, where he had reserved a room. The person briefed on the case identified Mr. Spitzer as Client 9.
The Times is also reporting that Spitzer has informed top aides of his involvement in the prostitution ring.
In related news, we have no idea why stories about famous male politicians getting busted with prostitutes always feature pictures of the politician and his wife, but apparently it’s written down somewhere that we have to do that.
UPDATE – Spitzer admits the story is true and apologizes for his actions, but doesn’t resign.

Hey, what’s a politician to do? You get sued if you use the state’s Highway Patrol to russle up some leg and impeached if you cavort with a willing intern. At least this was a gal that was “in the biz” and apparently well compensated for her labor.
In fact, the real story is the sexist Feds trying to keep the poor girl with a heart of gold from earning enough money to pay for her dear pappy’s much needed operation.
This is why we need universal health care.

What can I tell ya Spitzer? Had you confined you little “happy time” connections to Bay Street, Beaufort, you’d still be prancing your happy ass around the Guvners mansion. Typical yankee asshole. Hey most of the single gals around here have the crabs, wasn’t like you were special or something.
