BLUEGRASS REPUBLICAN WANTS TO BAN ANONYMOUS COMMENTS ON WEBSITES
FITSNews – March 10, 2008 – In the latest sign that politicians are scared sh*tless of the Internet, Kentucky State Rep. Tim Couch has filed a bill that would prohibit citizens from posting anonymous comments on websites. From Kentucky’s Action News 36:
The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.
Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.
If the bill becomes law, the website operator would have to pay if someone was allowed to post anonymously on their site. The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.
Nice. Not only does the government get to rape your First Amendment rights, they get to charge you a fee while they do it. And get this – Couch is a Republican.
We forwarded a copy of Rep. Couch’s bill to our attorneys, who laughed until tears came to their eyes … and then billed us $500.Â

Incompetence must follow him… he couldn’t cut it as Byron Leftwich’s back-up, but seems to have found his calling as a lawmaker back home in the great state of Kentucky.
Pardon the confusion. Just checked the link and that is obviously not the All-American/All-SEC QB from a decade ago… honest mistake. It worked for Heath Shuler, so why not Couch?

Another gay republican, imagine that.
Look I got no problem using my real name, if I could just remember my real name. I’ve gotten so use to screen names, blog names, e-mail addresses, I mean who can keep all this stuff straight. I’m either Richard B. Long or Horace Wanger, I can’t recall. Let me call my mom.

We here at BIN News totally support that ban. We endorse it and think everyone should join in our support. ;) (wink, wink…)
Until then, we will sit here in our luxury condo in the Blogovian Republic and post to our heart’s content as we see fit. Driving willie crazy! :0
