FITSNews - March 9, 2008 - Congratulations to S.C. Representatives Kris Crawford and Creighton Coleman for earning “Yer Mouthbreathin’ Knuggledragger(s) Of The Week” awards for March 2-9, and for demonstrating once and for all why S.C. legislators should never be allowed to take guns into the State House. From La Socialista’s “Buzz” section:

Things turned interesting during a break in (House) debate when state Reps. Kris Crawford, R-Florence, and Creighton Coleman, D-Fairfield, got in each other’s faces and engaged in a heated exchange. The Buzz wasn’t close enough to hear what the finger-pointing and raised voices were about. But it was enough for security personnel to step in between the two lawmakers until they cooled down and walked away from each other.

Like we said, South Carolina’s legislature is a lot like taxpayer-funded adult day care. And why not let a bunch of immature, itching inferiority complexes walk around with guns? What could possibly go wrong?

I don’t really see a downside in allowing dueling within the confines of the statehouse. Might need a few rules.
a. Black powder pistols only. I’m sure the Black Caucus will argue for chrome 9’s but we need to stick to the traditional here
b. Friendly fire kills will count as tiebreakers.
c. Should either participant show weakness, the Speaker is required to pop a cap in his/her ass.
d. Treatment of serious wounds will be only be permitted by an 80% majority vote. Filibusters are encouraged.
The Goveneloper can appoint replacements for losses only within his party. The minority junta can appoint replacements from a list provided by DMV.
