What In The Holy Hell Is Wrong With South Carolina?

STATE LAWMAKERS GRAPPLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES OF OUR TIME

FITSNews - March 5, 2008 - You would think in a state as monumentally screwed up as South Carolina that things like selecting an official state color could wait to be decided until … oh, we don’t know … our economy worked or our kids could read. Not surprisingly, you might want to think again:

It’s hard to find a redder state than South Carolina when it comes to politics, but if a 9-year-old has her way, blue will always be the state’s true color.

Lauren Cunningham wants indigo blue to be named the state’s official color. That’s the background color on the state flag. Indigo cultivation was one of the state’s first cash crops.

The Lake Murray Elementary School third grader sat next to bill sponsor and Republican Senator Ronnie Cromer on Wednesday as he talked up the proposal that was approved at a Senate panel hearing.

There really are so many ways to go with this one it’s almost not fair. Obviously it goes without saying that nine-year-old girls with a basic understanding of social studies probably shouldn’t be drafting laws. Next thing you know we’ll have “My Little Pony Day” or Barbie serving as Lieutenant Governor.

Of course given the choice between little Lauren and Ronnie Cromer, we’re gonna have to go with the nine-year-old, people. Seriously … at least stupid ass laws like this one don’t cost as much as fake Republicans like Cromer growing your government twenty times faster than your paycheck.

Well take the 9 year old girl’s counsel over Cromer if you may, but I think I will take Barbie over the current Lt. (who by the way has managed not to almost kill himself or anyone else/have a crooked land deal - that has been made public anyway) for what 2 years now? Way to go!

Barbie would be smarter than Bauer.

sic(k) willie, we have a great idea!!

You need to contact Lake Murray Elementary and schedule a time for you to visit and explain to the kids and teachers why you think the little girl’s idea is so awful. We’re sure Ronnie will attend.

The BIN News Team will certainly have a reporter there!

While you’re there you can explain why you think all public education in S.C. “sucks” (your term, not ours). We’re sure a number of teachers and administrators will have some “spirited” questions for you.

Our reporter will have a brazillion questions for you.

BIN News will help by using our extensive influence to get The State, The Free Times, The Irmo News, The Palmetto Partisan and Bill (The Crack’pot) O’Really” to attend. Although Bill only does things for $$.

The school will have security. So, you have “…nothing to fear except fear itself.” Not exactly the truth. You do need to fear the truth.

Leave to a student from Lexington County.

If they had been from…let’s say from Beaufort County…they would have never figured it out!

I won’t call any effort by a kid to be stupid, but what I want to know is why the heck is The State reporting on this? Do they seriously have nothing better to do. Investigative reporting has hit a new low.

It’s a nine-year-old kid, folks. Come on. This is also a new low if we’re criticizing a nine-year-old. Now, criticize Cromer for being a goober, but leave the kid alone.

Yeah, leave the kid alone. In fact, she deserves credit for getting access without making a campaign contribution.
