Referencing the speaker's "leadership pac", I recall the drama a few yrs ago surrounding the arrest of superlobbyist Jack Abramoff, who boasted strong ties to Republican heavyweights Tom DeLay, congressman Bob Ney, former C.Coalition ex dir. Ralph Reed and others with links to the Bush administration. It was reported that Abramoff bilked the Indian tribes of millions in fees and bought influence in Congress. Shortly thereafter there was talk that the Tom Delay "leadership pac" and that operation was likened to leadership pacs in the General Assembly of South Carolina and other states They say "the more one stirs crap, the more it stinks".
