IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A NEGATIVE ENDORSEMENT?

FITSNews – February 26, 2008 – The national political chatterers are all in a tizzy today because Senator Chris Dodd, who may or may not have starred in all those Naked Gun movies, has officially endorsed Barack Obama for president. From the story:

“I believe Barack Obama has the experience, the ability, the vision to lead this country and to make a difference for us, both at home and abroad, a significant difference,” Dodd said. “The hour is getting late and that opportunity is not going to last forever.”

The hour is getting late? Wait, is this an endorsement or a really bad karaoke version of All Along The Watchtower? Or does Dodd just have some errands he really, really needs to run before dinner?

Seriously, the headline “Obama Momentum Picks Up With Dodd Endorsement” is like saying a tank that’s running over you picked up momentum because a fly hopped on its back. Obama has momentum because he’s kicking Hillary’s ass all over the map, people. A Dodd endorsement? Obama better hope that guy’s anti-charisma isn’t the parking brake on his recent political acceleration …
