William J. Thrower is a scum-bag attorney who takes the money of his clients and never does anything for them (to speak of), he shows his face once or twice and then disappears. You may try looking into the people he has “working for him” too……..FYI Ms. Harrington is a wonderful solicitor, but like everyone else “volleying for their place”, she has ran way out in left field on a few cases and ruined a few innocent lives.

You got it … it would be illegal for anyone to make a commitment or solicit a commitment in the manner Harrell is alleged to have done.

There is a specific deadline for when legislators can make those commitments, and it is well after the Judicial Merit Screening Commission has done its work.

Of course, the law is widely viewed as a joke, because everybody makes and solicits commitments for judicial races whenever the hell they feel like it.

I believe that the scandal comes into play when legislators are engages in vote swapping on judicial elections which i understand is forbidden in the law. FITSNews, am i correct on this. Thanks

Ive read this thrice now and still can’t figure out what is scandalous. Legislators backing something for whatever reason and driven by outside sources (whatever they may be) is hardly limited to judicial elections / appointments. Great read nonetheless, just don’t think it qualifies as a scandal.

Sic:

A minor correction is needed in this story…there is no Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. There IS a Circuit Court of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, to which Harrington was elected, which is the trial-level court for Charleston and Berkeley Counties. There’s also the South Carolina Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over appellate matters throughout the state.

Kristi was elected to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court, not the Court of Appeals. Just lettin’ ya know!
