WHY DO POLITICAL SEX SCANDALS ALWAYS HINGE ON GIRLS THAT ARE “OFFICE HOT” AT BEST?

FITSNews – February 21, 2008 – In case you’re not familiar with the term “office hot,” it refers to a person that you ordinarily wouldn’t find all that attractive, but who becomes incredibly attractive when you’re stuck in the same office with them day after day. Yeah, you’re feeling us … in fact, you’re probably already picturing somebody in your head right now, aren’t you? Also known as the “Springfield Syndrome,” we keep hearing from Sic Willie that it will eventually take hold and make us unable to resist him, but so far that just hasn’t happened.

Anyway, in the wake of the explosive story in this morning’s New York Enquirer … Err, Times, every politico in the country is talking about Vicki Iseman, the lobbyist with whom presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain is rumored to have had an inappropriate romantic relationship. And since we’re obviously incapable of treating this with the seriousness it deserves, we turn to Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post:

What this incident may do — again assuming that nothing more damaging emerges over the coming days — is to energize conservatives behind McCain in a way that they might not have been otherwise. Most conservatives would likely have come home to McCain in the end but there was a segment of voters who would have stayed home. They may not now — especially if McCain and his camp can cast this controversy as an example of the liberal media trying to destroy a conservative Republican. The story has the potential in the short term to turn McCain into a conservative cause celebre.

Yeah, so back to the girl. She’s “office hot,” right? We certainly think so. She’s definitely not as hot as this DC lobbyist. Yowzas! Water, please. Anyway, we talked to a senior McCain staffer today and asked him whether or not a story like this could have been deliberately planted by them in an effort to achieve the very “conservative unification” around McCain’s candidacy that appears to be taking place all over the country today.

“No,” we were told definitively. “It’s a left-wing smear campaign that has been in the works for months.”

Our source also said that while the McCain camp is displeased with their former campaign manager John Weaver for going on the record with the Washington Post concerning his conversations with Iseman, they don’t think he leaked the story nor do they believe he had any intention of harming his former employer.

“John did nothing nefarious,” he said. “Like the Senator, he is a victim of this liberal hatchet job.”

Given one follow up question, we decided to ask our source whether he thought Vicki Iseman was actually hot or just “office hot.”

“Excuse me?” he asked incredulously, at which point we repeated our question.

Not suprisingly, that’s when he huffed and puffed a bit before hanging up on us.

The good news for republicans is that McCain wasn’t caught having an affair with Lyndsey Graham. That is probably just a matter of time though. The way Lyndsey gazes at McCain during campaign speeches really creeps me out.

She’s attractive, but is she worth risking your career over for an affair? Especially if your career could be the leader of the free world…

He is getting old and she looks a little like his wife. Maybe he was confused.

What’s best about this story is that ol’ “Straight Talk” McCain has repeatedly lied about trying to get the story spiked. Of course, he could have dropped one of his famous f-bombs and got the NYT editors riled up.
