REP. DANTZLER TO ANNOUNCE HE’S STEPPING DOWN TOMORROW

FITSNews – February 13, 2008 – We’re not exactly sure what’s going on with the gratuitous Lego violence in the video above, but the Queen song playing in the background is beginning to emerge as a real theme for the 2008 legislative session here in South Carolina.

In the past 48 hours, three legislators rumored to be targeted for defeat by forces friendly to Gov. Mark Sanford have decided not to seek reelection. On Monday, it was Assistant Majority Leader Adam Taylor and Aiken Rep. Skipper Perry. Today it’s reportedly Berkeley County Rep. Thomas “Doc” Dantzler.

We’ve always liked Dantzler, personally, although we think Charleston County Council Chairman Tim Scott – the odds-on favorite to replace him – is probably one of the most exciting legislative candidates to come along in recent years.

UPDATE – Apparently there are tons of these crazy lego videos over on YouTube. Go figure …
