FITSNews 2.0 - Whatcha Want?
THE HAMMER IS DROPPING SOON, BUT WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK FIRST
FITSNews - February 11, 2008 - We never intended to create such a monster here at FITSNews. We figured it would always be the same fifty or sixty people logging on (albeit three times a day), and the fact that so many people now visit our little blog on a daily basis is truly humbling and inspiring. Well, it would be humbling and inspiring if our founding editor wasn’t such a vainglorious, megalomaniacal prick.
Anyway, we know that we’ve been promising all you kids and kittens a new website for over a year now, but before we pull the trigger on FITSNews II: Electric Boogaloo, we wanted to give y’all a chance to drop some wisdom on us.
Specifically … whatcha want? Design, features, content, coverage … anything and everything is on the table. Oh, and if some of you just want to use this as another opportunity to hurl insults at Sic Willie, feel free to do that as well!
We look forward to reading everybody’s suggestions, and incorporating the best ones into the new site …

a sic willie video blog. and some theme music. How about Sic playing the Bass part from YYZ (if he is man or canadian enough).

#3-
Done deal. He’ll even smile at you and wink while nailing the harmonics, if you like.
Sic’s Rush favorites are actually Red Barchetta and Spirit of Radio, but YYZ is certainly a crowd pleaser.
Quick trivia - can anybody name the International airport whose three-letter AIC (airport identification code) formed the basis for YYZ’s crazy 10/8 beat, which is actually a derivative of the Morse Code for the three letters?

P.S. - We mean you, Rep. Eminem.
By Wow on February 11th, 2008 at 9:32 am
can you make it auto-refresh? or does it do that already?
By Earl on February 11th, 2008 at 11:27 am
I vote for YYZ. Just do it.
By Give Me FITS on February 11th, 2008 at 11:43 am
YYZ is Someplace in Canada…for some reason all the big Canadian city airport codes begin with Y.

Mr. Biz,
Correct. But that’s only part of it. What’s the name of the airport?
BTW, what else do y’all want the new site to do? Polls? Quotes of the day? Feature interviews? Podcasts? Guest opeds? Weekly columns?
We have approximately eleventy kabillion dollars to spend on this. Help us blow it!

Will, how did you get eleventy kabillion dollars? The boys over at Senate Finance give you a budget booster?
By marlboro on February 11th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
I think that polls would be good if you worked it out so that people couldn’t hijack them. I also thought the video interviews that you did when “affiliated” with schotline would be cool to continue. A weekly podcast would be cool. Guest op eds we can get from the newspaper. Weekly Columns definitely.
But what would be really cool would be a way to access the Secretary of States database to search for non-profits and corporations so that people could more closely identify what is going on with regards to the happenings of the palmetto state. And most importantly a link from your site to the state ethics and election commissions so that we can more easily comb through their databases.
Hint: Look at the filings for the Senators from Lexington County and dig into the 400 dollar campaign related gas charges.

More muckraking, less sexist garbage.
By Believe It Not (a.k.a. Sic Willie's Stalker) on February 11th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
For a refreshing change, how about some honest posts with real named sources who will stand by their comments, and some real news rather than willie-scams, and fewer (read: none) politically motivated attacks funded by mysterious carpetbaggers and shady political actions committees. You know, SCRG and friends!
Just make it a porn site. You wouldn’t be any more offensive, and at least you would be more honest about what you’re doing.
While you are at it, give us the update you promised and promised on the Midlands’ elected official you claim has a “Strom problem.”
Or, you can do the honest thing and print a retraction. If honesty is not your strong suit, you can choose to ignore our request.

Pearson. Also the song’s intro is supposed to be a musical version of YYZ in morse code. Neil Peart is a genius.

1. Fewer juvenile sexual photos and references to hot chicks. Failing that, equal time for hot men.
2. I’m with the stalker — more news and honest discussion, less stand up comedy.
3. Elimination of the words “comrade,” “communist,” “Soviet,” and “Stalin.” It’s dated, tired, not amusing, and beneath even Sic Willie.
By Bob on February 12th, 2008 at 9:37 am
Do a power rankings ala ESPN or Rivals for state officials and others in the political scene.
By jared fogle on February 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Nothing is beneath sic(k) willie. He’s consistently proven that.
