FITSNews – February 9, 2008 – It’s hard to imagine a human being cruel enough to pour acid up and down a dog’s back, but such incomprehensible brutality comes with the territory in the barbaric world of pit bull fighting. We’ve all heard the horror stories associated with the Michael Vick case, but Miracle (pictured above) is a real-life survivor. From her Petfinder page:
Miracle is 10 months old and didn’t deserve such brutality. Her scar may never fade, but hopefully the memory of that day will. She holds no grudges. She’s the sweetest happiest girl around. We love her!
Like most all of the dogs available for adoption at Wescott Acres Animal Rescue (located in Irmo, S.C.), Miracle is up to date on her shots and has already been “fixed.” And unlike our founding editor Sic Willie, she’s housetrained, too.
All of these incredible dogs have truly heartwrenching stories – like Daisy and Roxi (pictured below), who have always lived together but whose owners were forced to give them both up for adoption due to a major family crisis.
We hope you’ll take a few minutes and check out all of the adoptable dogs at Wescott Acres – and adoptable dogs all across the nation on Petfinder.com – and consider opening your home to one of them this year. Who knows? Maybe they could end up like Todd The Dog, a former rescue pup who’s now the leading 2010 challenger to Secretary of State Mark Hammond!

I saw Miracle today at Petsmart. She is beautiful and friendly!. These dogs only cost $125!

That pit bull looks sweet until he chews off the neighbor’s kids head. Don’t waste your time, put it down. That breed is nothing but trouble.

We’ve had a lot of moronic comments on a lot of different subjects on this website in the past, but yours achieves a new level of stupidity.
Have you ever lived with a pit bull? We have. Her name was Isabel and she was by far and away the kindest, sweetest dog we’ve ever seen. Great with kids, great with other dogs – a perfect pet.
It’s not the breed, it’s the assholes who derive sadistic pleasure from the bloodsport of dogfighting.
