Signing Day Blues For South Carolina
GAMECOCKS’ 2007 COLLAPSE COSTSÂ TEAM ITS SHOT AT BLUE CHIP RECRUITS
FITSNews – February 6, 2008 – All-everything high school quarterback Terrelle Pryor (above) won’t be announcing his college selection today after all, but one thing is for sure – the Pennsylvania native isn’t headed to South Carolina. Nor apparently, is a single member of the Top 100 prospects list put out by recruiting website Rivals.com.
The nation’s No. 2 recruit, Bamberg, S.C. defensive end DeQuan Bowers, is headed to Clemson, while the nation’s No. 9 recruit, Summerville, S.C. wide receiver A.J. Green is headed to Georgia. No other Palmetto State players are included on the list, and South Carolina is not listed as a potential destination for any of the undecided out-of-state talent, although Clemson appears on more than a few shortlists.
Is it just us or does this happen every year? Sure, South Carolina has Steve Spurrier, but let’s face it, people – he got beat by Vanderbilt last year.
That’s right, Vanderbilt.

It’s just you. Last year we had the #6 class and the year before that we were #24 the year before that #23, this year #21. I think you are thinking of basketball where we have been passed by Ray Allen, Kevin Garnet, Raymond Felton, Jermaine ONeal. I’m sure I’ve missed some.
The talent isn’t the problem (see SC players in NFL), on field performance is.
