There are all those federal judgeships, cabinet appointments, etc. As long as someone isn't delusional enough to think they can be president, there are 1000 other better paying and more influential presidential pork jobs to take. That sure is a lot of face time ole Henry's been giving to the Mac. And let's face it: the Mac will crush Hitlery or the black man in a general election. But on the other hand, the last 2 times the GOP nominated their moderate (Ford in '76 and Dole in '96), none of the base showed up to vote. I tend to side with Ann Coulter on that one, too. U.S. Attorney General isn’t the only possible McCain appointment. He said he was looking hard at it and might do it, but that he wasn't sure yet. I was pleasantly surprised by his candor instead of the usual "I'm focused on my job, blah, blah" non-answer that these guys usually give.
