Everybody Hates Mitt
REPUBLICANS GANG UP ON THE FLIP-FLOPPER
FITSNews – February 4, 2008 – We’ve made no secret of our distaste for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney here at FITSNews. We just don’t do fake, whatever party line or ideology you claim to believe in. Of course it turns out we’re not alone. Apparently, all of Romney’s Republican rivals feel the exact same way. From this week’s Time:
While sharp words have been exchanged between practically every Republican candidate at one point or another on the campaign trail, the aversion to Romney seems to go beyond mere policy disagreements. It’s also a suspicion of what they see is his hypocrisy and essential phoniness — what one former staffer for Fred Thompson called Romney’s “wholesale reinvention.”
If we were ever going to “wholesale reinvent” ourselves, we would start with rap skills. Then we’d add jujitsu, X-ray vision and anti-gravity skills. In fact, Mitt Romney’s “wholesale reinvention” was pretty boring when you stop and think about it. Hell, if you’re going to spend millions of your own money lying to people, at least make them think you can fly or see through their clothes. That way you can be “arrogant and presumptuous” and people will still like you. Sort of like Sic Willie, who can fly and see through most blouses.

As long as Mitt Romney reinvents himself as “conservative” and stays that way, he’s got my vote.
John McCain is one of the biggest RINOs in the U.S. Senate, and has consistently opposed conservative reforms at every turn.
(McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, voted against Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, voted against oil exploration in ANWR, mulled serving as Democrat Sen. John Kerry’s running mate in 2004, engaged in talks about switching to Democrat party after losing Repub. nomination in 2000, and the list goes on…)
